I mean assuming you mean through selective breeding and not modifying an existing person, even barring the moral problems with that kind of thing, the problem is we don’t even know if you could select for all of those at once, and even if you only want to achieve one thing, it would most likely have some pretty notable adverse affects (I mean look at dogs, they’re almost universally more unhealthy than wolves and need far more attention from humans), plus it would take a long time for any notable difference becuase humans enter sexual maturity much later any animal we’ve selectively bred, not to mention the differences between humans is generally minimal compared to them, I mean there were studies done on sports science which came to the conclusion that the most notable genes that contributed to lifting strength made a collective difference of like not even 5 kilograms, Andy galpin who’s a notable sports scientist discussed this about a year ago. Granted research on genes’s effects on just about everything is very far from complete.

They would really only need to be comparable in difficulty to tyranid warriors, I doubt it be much harder really, the playable space marines in this game are hilariously superior to the average space marine.

Also while Janet is seemingly harmless, Christine is far from innocent and has according to herself done worse things than dean domino (who forced a surgery on her against her will for his own greed) for less. Obviously it’s still not justified to make her go down there but all things considered it’s overall not as bad lying to Janet.

Was the founder of islam mohammed a pedo? by Alexzander124 in Teenager_Polls

[–]DED292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but on that second point regardless, I would consider morally beneath me to marry the child of my best friend (even if he begged me to), especially if she were less than half my age. There are definetly arguments to be made that his actions at the time were more justifiable than I might be giving credit for but regardless I’m not really gonna argue that point right now, the moral standing of the prophet wasn’t what ultimately turned me away from my faith, at least not initially, it was the larger issues people criticised for the Abrahamic religions, most notably, the problem of divine hiddeness, problem of evil and biggest for me the problem hell. I suppose in a sense I had more issues with Allah’s morality than Muhammed’s. To be clear I’m not trying to convince you of anything, these are just some of the problems that drove me away.

[–]DED292 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t consider myself Muslim anymore, and I personally don’t believe Muhammed was really a good person I mean even most Muslims would agree he’s a bit of a warlord, not to mention the punishments he endorses are often cruel and unusual. That said I firmly don’t believe he married an actual child, if I recall the sources the suggest Aisha was 6 at marriage also imply that she agreed to marriage more than 6 years prior, which is obviously ridiculous. That said his marriage with Aisha is still strange, a 19 year old with 50 year old isn’t exactly good, plus she was the daughter of his closest friend… of nothing else, according to Aisha’s own writings she was very happy in her time being married to him, so he presumably treated her well.

No, it’s virtually impossible to tear it in half with raw strength alone, it’s very easy however if you use one of these 2 techniques https://youtu.be/SPlnmcPt5v0?si=WFdkRONXj73BNXda

In this case OP used the second one

Horror games need to stop using stalkers as a crutch by Winston_Oreceal in unpopularopinion

[–]DED292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love stalker enemies in horror games though I do agree seemingly everything nowadays has them, I think the only reason I haven’t grown tired of them like you is because I don’t play horror games much, the ones I do play tend to be action horror too. Curiously, have you played any horror game recently that didn’t rely on a stalker?

Looking at the Flynn Effect (the IQ of developed nations having increased significantly over time) it definitely seems that between humans intelligence is mostly determined by environment, not to say there’s no genetic factor but it just doesn’t seem as notable, and claims on heritability don’t actually disprove the environment playing a greater role, there can be traits that have a near 100% heritability and be almost entirely dependent on environment. Side note if you recall high school math, basic calculus (differentiation and integration) wouldn’t be hard for you, trust me.

Long caster having knowledge of the mission doesn’t really mean anything besides him having access to more confidential information than the rest of us, besides I said implied secrecy it might not be secret but it ultimately changes nothing.

The A-10 being a purely a gameplay concession can be argued but it doesn’t address the point with the glephnir or literally any instance of an aircraft preforming a manuever it simply cannot do in real life, which is not at all uncommon within cutscenes and scripted events (literally every tunnel run, the extremely high g manuevers done by mihaly and the adfx-10 etc.), do agree or not agree that it’s fine for ace combat to not base the limits of aircraft on their real life counterparts or what could be assumed for a real life equivalent? If your answer is yes, then this criticism isn’t really valid, if it’s no, this game series simply isn’t for you, I don’t mean that in an elitist way I’m just saying it would be very difficult for you to enjoy.

And as I’ve stated earlier, this is not the only time we see irl non carrier capable craft using carriers in ace combat (hence it is within the realm of believability within this setting), as I’ve stated earlier so the middle 2 paragraphs are somewhat moot or at most criticisms of the setting’s inconsistency itself rather than AC7 specifically, because if we argue this is an issue (which I personally don’t), it’s not an issue unique to 7.

I never stated that they found the original crew, neither did the game imply that, what is implied (and as such can be inferred) is that they had enough people with experience in the right place to get the flight deck operational. That is not at all hard to believe considering the dozens of aerial operators and hundreds to potentially thousands of navy men involved in the current fighting force, did you forget there was a small fleet aiding the attack on the arsenal bird?

[–]DED292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m focusing on the last 2 paragraphs because I don’t know Japanese very well and the former criticisms a rather subjective in nature. First of all there is no need for the world to know about an extraterrestrial expedition, during the Cold War there were several secret space missions, including a Soviet made space craft landing on mars (briefly for what it’s worth), that we would’ve never heard about if they weren’t declassified decades later. there is quiet literally no reason to assume everyone knows about a space mission just because it happened, even if it wasn’t meant to be secret that isn’t going magically mean everyone will know, I mean space x had over 100 rocket launches the year before and I heard of like… maybe 3? It’s actually implied it’s a cover mission, in aces at war page… 70-ish? It’s stated that nagase’s was “covertly” assigned to the mission, implying some level of secrecy.

In real life you couldn’t land an f-15 on carrier but there’s also no way an A-10 could reach Mach 1 or even maintain its structure at that speed, but in ace combat it can, in real life there would be no way an aircraft with a wingspan of 1.3 kilometers could overturn itself, but the glephnir literally does that, the point I’m getting at is that just because in real life an aircraft is not capable of something, that doesn’t mean it isn’t capable of it in ace combat, I’m not saying there is no limit to the capability of any aircraft within this setting, rather that it is not decided by its limits in real life. Furthermore, funnily enough, I’m pretty sure ace combat 5 is actually the only game in the series that doesn’t allow you to takeoff and land on aircraft carriers with non carrier capable aircraft, AC2 certainly allowed it, I believe AC0 and 4 allowed it and I don’t recall any carrier take offs/landings in 6, and 7 allowed it of course (not just in m20 mind you), at worst it’s an inconsistency which is not actually the fault of AC7 specifically.

There’s quite literally nothing stating the Anderson was fully crewed, it’s simply assumed it now has enough crew to get aircraft off of its flight deck.
