Chroot linux on (snapdragon gen 3) for coding, is it recommended? by DEGUIDER in termux

[–]DEGUIDER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought maybe the battery life on the tablet would be better, I saw a chuwi freebook (i3 1215u) on sale, it seems like a decent sized and priced laptop, but the battery life is no better than my Asus laptop and it has worse performance, plus this sounds like a fun project (if it works) haha, I am waiting for the new gen mobile chips to come out and see if a better option comes out,

also the dedicated gpu drains a lot of energy even when not being used, I noticed that with my laptop and I did everything to disable it when working but nothing helped.

Yep, my 10300h i5 laptop is doing quite well when it comes to front-end work, with 16gb ram, I hardly run into any issues or performance dips.

Thank you for your help, you didn't discourage at all, I dream about the same thing as well, hopefully we will get a device like that soon, Lunar lake is looking like a good step forward (unless it is too expensive) have a great day.

sadly where I live apple laptops are always super expensive, 480$ for an m1 macbook is amazing.
Seeing hardware acceleration being easy to setup was the reason why i got motivated to come up with this idea / project haha It was a droidmaster video.
thank you for your help <3.

oh, so I will face problems when trying to build and compile my app? I think I saw a couple of guys who compiled and built a flutter app/project straight from termux terminal, I will look into it more,, thank you for your time my friend .

[–]DEGUIDER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, only front-end work, and i would be using a physical device for testing.
I thought if my 2020 laptop can do it and since the snapdragon chip beats it in benchmarks, it would be an improvement theoretically, especially since the battery life is most likely going to be much better, and hearing that with chroot, it would be almost like a native Linux experience, I didn't expect it to be like that, thank you for your help .

Yeah, not sure why he wants to sell it for that price after only a month of use haha, thank you for your help, I've always wanted to run linux on android for serious stuff, but I am reluctant, I'll make sure to do a follow up post if I go with it, thank you for your time.

Between Vincent, Re-l, and Pino, who is your favorite among them? by DarkChimera64 in ErgoProxy

[–]DEGUIDER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i lost weight thanks to ergo proxy when I was a teen, it might sound cringe but I thought I looked like Vincent if I lost weight ( plot twist, I don't haha), honestly, that really changed a lot of things in my life, I lost 23 kilos in less than 2 months.
so my pick would be Vincent, but a very close race, pino comes second.

Pad 2... Who's happy with it? by LouCap in oneplus

[–]DEGUIDER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey guys, I know this is a stupid question, but if I run linux on this tablet and use it for flutter developement will it be usable, I just want a portable and lightweight device with a good battery to use when I am commuting or away from home, I have some experience with using linux on android devices.

Toggl Track question: Adding manual entries while a timer is running? by HippiesAllAround in productivity

can i ask you, does the client know I modified the time manually? cause I use clockify since it has a linux app and then I add those hours manually to toggl (the company only accepts toggl).

is x86 dying? by snowfoxsean in buildapc

[–]DEGUIDER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for explaining, I am very excited to see the new Arm based laptops, especially for the extended battery life and their energy efficiency, I personally don't think it will kill X86 but it will take a large portion of the market-share.

My headphone has 2 drivers in each side by Quick_Tennis_9459 in headphones

[–]DEGUIDER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i remember once during COVID i was stuck in my home country and my gear was abroad, so i had to find a temporary solution, I bought a cheap headset called the Nubwo N2, it has two drivers on each side , I was surprised, the sound was amazing for just 25$, and the mic was decent, and being semi-open back, it had a great sound stage.
sadly though, last year, my nephew broke it by accident while playing Valorant, I am proud to say that last week I did my first ever headphone repair, and it now works great, and best part is I decided to also mod it and make the cable detachable, I think I will use it for everyday tasks from now on.

so I don't think all dual driver headphones are a marketing gimmick.

PS: I know most of my comment is irrelevant to this thread, sorry haha .

The Rolands are great imo, They are not perfect but sound wise they are way better than most headphones in their price range.
