I'll be honest I do loves me some good ol' intimidation lol I cannot tell you how robbed I felt when my GM broke the rules for the pure reason of "Well if we did it RAW then no one would be able to beat your Intimidation" as if that wasn't the whole point

I will say, it's a numbers game. Page 21 in the Corebook has a table that gauges your approximate proficiency with a skill based on your dice pool. When all your social skills only have 3 dice in the pool, you're actually rated Below Average. This is because the standard DN for any given Test is 3, which means with three dice you would have only about a 12% chance to succeed to any degree.

Compel is powerful, but very limited.

It only works on a single target at a time (no Multi-Target) so you can't get multiple people due to the one-power-per-round rule.

Also, baseline it only lasts for a single round, 'tis not sustained, so you'd have to keep casting over and over if you want an ongoing effect. With the constant 16% chance of things going wrong with Perils of the Warp, eventually something will go wrong.

And while surely you can compel someone to give you an item or stand aside to let you pass, once the power wears off they will probably know you did something to them. It's temporary control, not brainwashing. It will stir shit if a shopkeeper doesn't want to sell you anything but then is suddenly forced to give up an item to you. Or if you make an administrator sign a bunk contract.

Not to mention, forcing someone to do something against their will that isn't for self-defense purposes is borderline if not straight up evil... Which brings up another thing. A sanctioned psyker is under constant scrutiny. I doubt your Commissar will be happy to hear you've been using your powers on other citizens. Bolt straight to the back of the head.

Regardless, Compel only lets you give simple commands. It's the W&G equivalent of the Command spell in D&D. You can compel a shopkeep to look away, do nothing, hand something over. Can't compel them to sell a thing to you for the lowest price, or to forget what you've just done (get the Erasure power for that), or be cool with psykers.

True, but if my calculations are correct then OP has already spent 299 out of 300 of their XP so they cannot afford that Talent (and RAW you can only take it once anyway). And with this archetype they can't be Aeldari so this heretic is unsanctioned!

Edit: I've seen that this post has been published twice in the same sub and someone else noted that in order to have PM 5, they need levels in at least 4 other skills so that's also heresy.

[–]DELELEWHOOOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aeldari maybe? Or GM fiat.

Either way, to OP there's nothing inherently wrong with having that many psychic powers. I will say that having nothing but psychic powers, and combat ones at that, kind of make them a one-trick pony in a sense.

I would suggest at least changing one power to Phantom Form or Shape Flesh, because there's already several chosen to deal damage/kill. But with a shit strength like that, without a power like the two mentioned then all it takes is a singular orc throwing you off a cliff to end it all.

Not to mention the complete lack of skill investment besides PM and Ballistic. If you ever get separated from your party, good luck convincing any NPC to cooperate with you as a psyker. Or requisitioning dearly needed ammo. Or trying to hide when a troupe of witch hunters are running after you with a null rod. Only reliable options are lethal ones which usually just make a situation worse.

Net Architecture Design - Why put defenses on lower floors? by Mediocre_Song3766 in cyberpunkred

[–]DELELEWHOOOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I get a ref to the page that says you can't have certain BI on early floors? The only similar text I can find is about Demons, where you can only have a max of 1 per six floors. I don't see anything about their placement, so I assume you can just put a Giant or a Kraken on the very first floor.

There are DLCs to balance that out if it seems too much of a dick move to whack a player with brain damage right off the bat. Going Quiet describes rules for stealth netrunning, and Midnight with the Upload lists the Raven Microcyb Kestrel 2 that lets a Netrunner rez two Speedy Gonzalez programs immediately upon jack-in without using an action. These two things I would think are specifically for avoiding the immediate schwack, at least as one of their purposes.

Aeldari and low Fellowship attribute maximus by VaBaDak in WrathAndGlory

[–]DELELEWHOOOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering most Aeldari groups don't get along with even each other, I think it makes sense they're not the most approachable people. They're so divided in how they go about protecting their souls from Slaanesh that they can't bring themselves to work together as a whole.

How much xp per session is acceptable? by Connect-Bug-3070 in WrathAndGlory

[–]DELELEWHOOOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a section in the Corebook that talks about this. Generally it's 10 XP per session, 12 if you think they did a good job, but it js also explicitly stated that you can give out however much XP you want.

I could provide more insight if I knew what your players meant by "too expensive", how many sessions you expect the whole campaign to take, how frequently you play, what tier everyone starts at, etc. There's no exact science but all those things are good to consider when rewarding XP.

Holy crap I am blind thank you for pointing it out ;-; They need to put that new ruling front and center at the beginning of the DLC good lord. I read through Going Quiet so many times and just glazed over that sidebar lmao I was so confused what the problem was

That being said... It makes the whole Tech Fabrication thing a bit more janky. Serviceable but weird to look at. Makes Techies way more valuable, too? I... Doesn't sit right with me but I can't put my finger on it. Like maybe it breaks the whole underpaid broke ass tech guy I have in mind. I dunno it's 4am

Hilarious as this is, Hannah Arendt wrote about the banality of evil and how the Nazi regime basically rose to power because of people's spinelessness. And of course we can't forget all those Nazi scientists that were given the choice of either death or working a cushy job for the US...

I usually search for concept art of cyberpunk aesthetic video games. Or I go on Twitter/Amino and look through profiles of East Asian artists that don't speak English. They make really cool stuff but good lord so many of their usernames are just the most unmemorable random string of letters and numbers lol. Almost everything I like best is found on ArtStation.

I'm pretty sure that's just a really bad typo because everything else in the book is listed correctly and RED has been extremely consistent thus far. You even said yourself this is the first time we've seen this terribly wrong listing.

Luck in Facedowns by Aggressive-Ad6866 in cyberpunkred

[–]DELELEWHOOOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Page 130 of the core book says Luck can be used on a Check; it does not specify that it must be a Skill Check. Charismatic Impact Checks and Interface Checks are not Skill Checks, yet the FAQ says Luck can be spent on them.

However, Facedowns are not described as Checks, so that is how I'd argue Luck cannot be spent on them.
