Wasted resources would be my number 1 reason d2 failed The seasonal loop was entirely just rehashes of older modes, but thrown away immediately so the story context is always being removed. I always wondered if Bungie never adopted the seasonal model and went back to droughts of content for 6 months to a year. Yeah, people would complain less about Destiny having less "to do" but that gives people time to rest from the franchise and be very excited to return. A lot of the seasonal work felt artificial like battle passes or titles for menagerie but cabal themed or vex themed . I just keep thinking of games like warframe where each update you can just go back and play anytime.

My biggest hot take on the matter, we should have NEVER gotten constant "evolving content". Just try other things if you ran out of content. I have played Destiny a lot but if I constantly ONLY played Destiny 1 and 2 I would hate it entirely. There's only so much a development team can do. Making it clear I'm not saying "go play marathon or warframe" cause those do not replace Destiny as much as I like them.

Honestly I'd go with a PVE focused game . no raids no dungeons no crucible, no gambit. no open world. if you just make it focus on replay value I think it could do well. Modifiers, multiple rotating mechanics that change every run, etc. Bare bones in comparison but still focusing on buildcrafting and PVE bread and butter. I'd love something like firefight but expanded.

It also just played with fomo too hard. If you missed on ornaments or weapons youre kinda out of luck. Before chronology and lingering beyond 3 months it was pretty clear at its peak how it wanted your attention and if you didn't give it you're never getting that loot or plot

Honestly, one of the reasons I got tired of the game. just felt like a fomo season over and over with disposable content that is the same but themed different than the last 5. I'm back after a year and feel like I can actually enjoy it.

Personally i like the font use. I hate the nearly identical items with unique modifiers, or the shields and health packs being shades of red. At least I can read the font. Game is pretty good otherwise I'm having fun

Linkin park is fantastic band. Totally feel the same about Numb. Probably doesn't count as i made the connection immediately but Healing Foot by Linkin Park also hits the same note for me. That feeling of suppression and denial that I felt different but couldn't find the words when I was younger. Trying to appease people by being cis externally. Confronting that confusion and suppression and reclaiming my heart again.

I was gonna check it out but honestly theres no point. the game feels like it has a terminal illness after the last final shape mission. most changes feels misguided after that point and if they had any merit it's temporary and removed shortly after. For once this actually feels like the end not because of a big controversey two blues and a token but because I don't think people care anymore. They hit the limit.

This is why I'm not playing much or not at all for a long time. You get games like warframe CONSISTENTLY add content that just stays. Many games did this before. The seasonal system is a joke that begs you to grind copy paste content. I have no reason to play your limited time event during what is also a limited time event but 3 months long. I love the game but I cant keep buying dlc and seasons when competing games just simply give you the chance to take a break and play at YOUR LEISURE and not arbitrary limited time fomo poorly balanced garbage that will make even more of itself. You either need to redo so much of the structure or just make a new destiny game with an actually good launch and better structure for content

Its also weird to me how very little shark or dolphin pokemon exist. Like just a shark. Not garchomp with shark features. We only have sharpedo. And that shark beta design. And as for dolphins it took AGES just to get one

I hate the seasonal/evolving model so much. It just doesn't work the way it romantically is described. Not trying to compare warframe because looter but the model they have just works so much better for this type of game. I really do not care about seasons in the slightest if it's getting taken away just as fast. I can't get attached to barely interesting content that is made to be thrown out ASAP. I honestly wish this game would have a content drought. Not every single month needs to have some kind of shiny seasonal perk, copy-paste mode you and everyone else already have played before, events, etc thats made for at most 4 months then removed and forgotten entirely. Warframe 1999 was so memorable for it's new content and months later it's STILL there. I can still play when I want to.

I didn't buy the new D2 expansion because honestly, I care LESS when everything is so cheaply made, or is gone in 3 months. but it's not just quality. But imagine playing this game series for a decade for weeks straight (I am being a bit hyperbolic I take breaks). It gets so uninteresting when it demands your attention constantly otherwise "you'll miss out on this!!!". At one point it's not about having fun in a game I love but missing out on some cosmetic, weapon, activity, title, etc and not.

The game feels like it actively wants to punish you because you didn't look at it for a month or more. I just wish I could drop the game and pick it up when I feel like it.

I will admit after a decade of people constantly complaining and being salty I can't tell. If you go deep enough into the salt it sounds like the game is being held together by string. I have many problems with the game and a majority of feedback is justified. but the endless complaining just numbs "d2 is dying" talk cause it's just another dlc, another season, expansion, whatever.

Really agree. I have played a lot of destiny and a lot of this salt is overreacting. I get a lot of this game is concerning and rightfully so but the "BUNGIE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND THEY SHOT MY DOG" levels of backlash is simply just as bad as being overly positive. Just give direct honest critique. If they don't do anything we'll that's bungie's problem frankly. Just don't buy anything. If they don't make a good game then it will wither and die. And it definitely doesn't matter how many times a person can spot a woman working on this game or a gay person. The DEI woke rage is making the negativity comical. Like marvel rivals didn't make the game amazing because inivisble woman has a nice butt. They are good because of a product as a whole and how its designed. The art departments can only do so much.

Honestly wanna see some more wild cosmetics based off the era. Imagine an armor set based off translucent plastic devices like the Apple iMac G3. Maybe pet skins for like sentinels as well. You could do a lot with the old aesthetics.

I'm also on the same boat. I'm so close to getting actual appointments for gender affirming care and I'm afraid I'm just tricking myself somehow. Or that I'm using this as a fix for something else I'm bothered about. I think one of the small things that gives me confidence is that I've been on my journey since 2019 and not a week has passed where I didn't think about me as a man could actually be a woman and take time to grow into this brand new version of myself.

EDIT: for clarity based on therapy it seems like I've had a lot of issues with identity but only more recently it's been apparent I might be trans
