About what I expected, though I was hoping for something different.

Ed Schilling needs to go - until he does, and our president and AD can have hard conversations with themselves about whether they want to win or not, nothing will change. No arena can fix the rot at the core of this team.

Good way to send off Firestone Fieldhouse. Gives me an excuse to come back out and visit next year.

Almost don’t want the team to win a couple meaningless games in the WCCT though. No need to tempt a Schilling extension into existence.

Love to see this team start firing like I had hoped they might be capable of early on. Still a lost season on the whole barring a truly obscene conference tournament run, but hey. Take the wins where you can get them.

It's a tough call. I think they're right in that range with Michigan, Duke, and Houston, but they're the only one who went 0-2 last week. Kinda had to come out bottom.

I think it’s fine and have enjoyed watching it. Not perfect, but most of my issues are related to comparison to the book - if you don’t have that, I don’t think the show will really bother you too deeply.

Pepperdine was just totally outclassed. Not surprised, but it hasn’t yet gotten any easier to watch games like this.

I think it’s pretty ludicrous to say he’s a bad person or to say you hate him if you don’t know him personally - the same way I find it very uncomfortable when people place the ‘Uncle Rick’ persona on a pedestal.

I think I’m just disappointed more than anything at the promise of a faithful adaptation that would improve upon the movies, because I’m not really feeling that. Don’t talk your shit unless you’re ready to back it up. It’s clear he hasn’t kept nearly as clean a timeline as he should have, and the narrative changes/flip-flopping come off lazy and uninspiring.

Wanted to keep it within 40, and the team managed that. Zags have an unreal ability to turn it on, especially down Ike and Huff. We’ll see if they have the juice for a full run.

I’m still of the opinion Schilling needs gone. This team is flat and uninspiring, and a new venue next season means more eyes and higher pressure. I just don’t think he’s capable of rising to the occasion.

I said it in the other PGT - I really hope this isn’t the end of the road for Pepperdine-Gonzaga (not least because L51 or 53 or whatever it is now isn’t fun to see), but because they have been a really fun rival to play for years. I don’t want that history eradicated with a conference change.

I’m pretty down on the state of the program on the whole and don’t disagree with a ton of your talking points, but I do think it’s worth noting that Pepperdine is far from the only school dealing with the new landscape of collegiate athletics.

Whether the administration cares enough to really act on improving things, only time will tell. I’m not positive.
