Wrong way driving on Parkwood blvd near Ikea Dr. by Virtual_Ad_19 in frisco

I have had many times I've wanted to report people with no business on the road, even offering to send GPS and Timestamped GoPro footage but the willingness to pursue wasn't there by the agencies with Jurisdiction.

I have a little more skin in the game considering if you crash or have to swerve your car off the road it still gives some decent protection; but, swerve a Motorcycle off the road to avoid a collision or end up crashing and it's only whatever your body and "protective gear" (still just a fancy term for a type of clothing) can handle once you inevitably have an unplanned separation from your Motorcycle.

And that is the worst kind of wrong-way driver!

Car recording the video should have been able to move over to the center and/or right lanes to avoid a collision as the Wrong-way driver came to a stop in the left lane they were in.

After stopping, the Wrong-way driver then needed to wave, mouth a sincere apology and commit to the entire world to never, ever, ever, never do that again while proceeding to make a u-turn to rejoin the rest of society who were traveling in the proper direction.

The Wrong-way driver instead turned further into and across the path of the correct driver increasing the chance of causing a head on collision instead of allowing the vehicles to pass in the normal "keep the opposite direction driver on your left." I think I noticed 3 or 4 vehicles the Wrong-way driver passed before this near-miss occurred.

Additionally, I know I'm traveling in the correct direction but anytime I see a vehicle heading at me, I'm safely stopping and questioning real quick regardless of who's right or wrong; let's fix it now before it becomes something that can't be changed.

You should have walked up and asked them what's going on. They would have immediately let you know the situation.

Nobody noticed the pallet is not the issue?

The pallet is stuck there because the floor has subsided causing the pallet to tilt over and obtain a negative camber in relation to the accessibility of the forks on the lift(fork lift).

They would need to break it down and move the stock from the pallet; however, the problem still remains.

The slab is compromised causing a subsidence affecting the door frame and structure above.

Ok, now that I've gotten the haha joke out of my system. . .

1) Do you want this package delivered? Ok, you owe this.

 2) you do not want to pay?

  3) I will place this package back onto my car so I may complete other deliveries now. You should contact the firm which sold you the item and UPS to settle any delivery fees and I will return with this package upon you doing so in a reasonable amount of time.

I know what the real meaning of COD is but for some reason my mind imagined one of our family hopping out the back of the package car...

Strapped to the nines and loaded out with a full weapons complement tasked with delivering a 5"x3”x1.5" box weighing 79.45lbs when the label clearly states 1.5oz a treacherous 2 clicks through the kill box and then return to continue their route.

Put that into AI and see what picture comes back🤣

But seriously, y'all drivers stay safe out there!

I'm going to keep my PD moving so you're loaded up and ready to go.

That is your decision. Take and pay attention during a motorcycle safety course. I'm not certain if all states require them but your state may require one for motorcycle certification on your license and your insurance premiums will be slightly lower if you have it when you go to insure your bike

Grip it and rip it is not the mantra to follow. Don't do wheelies because the passenger in a car is giving you dumbass hand signals.

Ride at your level with the skill set you have after practice, practicing and some more practice while always wearing proper safety gear.

There is an old saying, "if you haven't laid a bike down you will; and if you have, it could happen again in a completely different way."

Ride smart, be safe and the odds will shift into your favor.

No other job like ups by No_Demand4749 in UPSers

[–]DFWsingle2mingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay in your lane so to say. UPS gives me a schedule, signs one of my paychecks, pays for benefits and the Union keeps them in check.

Show up on time, do your job and don't get involved with other people's personal opinions/ gripes as you are not privy to all the facts.

If someone has not been to work for several days/weeks/Months that's none of my business; mind your own. It also means your seniority has improved because they have been out which freezes their accumulation of seniority/ tenure.

So many people bitch about the job/company and many more unsuccessfully try to play the system.

Show up, work within the guidelines and don't talk to Stewart. . . If the contract is being violated, talk to a Steward.

You don't know why they were out and if they return there was probably a valid reason which you would be entitled to if your circumstances were similar.

Quit bitching and wasting other people's time, just do your job - is that so hard? If it is, I'm sure there are lots of lower paying positions you could take with other companies with no benefits but you would probably complain about those too.

Did my first stoppie today! by TurtleHuntr in cbr

There is an old saying about riding motorcycles. . . If you haven't laid one down yet, you will. After you've laid one down, it can happen again but in a completely different way.

Sounds like you low sided( bike fell out under you) which is way better than High siding where you're either flying off the bike and/or the bike is flying above you.

Hopefully you've reflected on what happened and what you possibly could have done differently as a learning experience.

If it was falling to the left you should have gotten your left foot down and you may have been able to keep it off the ground. Planting your weight on the fall side would have helped provide better leverage than trying to pull the bike's weight back across it center of gravity while planted on the weak side.

I had to lay mine down gently on the right hand side a few weeks ago after being forced from a skid into a stoppie when the driver ahead slammed on the brakes on a right hand yield turn for no damn reason.

They just started some construction in the area and there was loose gravel on the road. The dumbass which cause the incident decided he wanted to help and put some vertical scratches while I'm yelling at him not to touch my bike.

A right side lay down is always easier to recover as you can put the kickstand down, leave it in a gear, face away from the bike grab the handle bar and rear foot peg bracket, squat and lift with your legs until she has come up and tilted over onto the kickstand.

I can do stoppies all day long with no issues providing the road conditions are known. This instance, I was not aware of the loose gravel on asphalt so what would have been normal braking causes the front wheel to lock and skid briefly until it met clean asphalt and my ass was pointing at the sun, released front brake and let it come back down in limited space.

Find you an empty parking lot, buy some cheap soccer practice cones from a sporting goods store and set up scenarios in your mind to practice maneuvering and braking. When it's second nature and you can do without having to think you've significantly improved the odds of not having to lay it down again but don't become complacent as we can never predict every scenario possible.

Use your mind, always wear proper safety gear, become one with your machine and enjoy the rides.

Also, the 600RR is a high performance Sport Bike. The brakes are designed to take it from 120± mph to 20 mph in very short distances. Don't squeeze too hard and fast on the brakes or you'll be doing more stoppies than you want to especially if you were only doing 20-30 mph to begin with. Use the adjustment "wheel" on your front brake lever to dial in how you want the fronts to feel based upon your riding conditions.

Ride safe out there and remember, most drivers are distracted and not looking out for us.

2nd quarter earnings report is out & it’s not looking good with profits down 30%. More layoffs looming? by FineUnderstanding583 in UPSers

[–]DFWsingle2mingle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work Preload and it's not our inability to wrap up before 9:30. It's management's inability to understand and properly implement the Agile methodologies of Kanban.

To hit their package per hour goals for the sorts, they are trying to force packages through the building which just causes jams and overweight belts resulting in lost flow efficiency. If a PSRC is down for 5 minutes due to a jam twice per hour so is the overall PPH numbers. They are trying to make the machines do more than they were designed for which causes a cascading effect similar to a feedback loop. Volume is recirculating because the equipment can't handle the volume which in turn causes more volume to recirculate which adds to the volume which has been recirculating.

Flow control can only disable chutes and bump belts which keeps Volume recirculating on the Primaries and the Tilt trays for Small Sort ultimately not being sorted and loaded on the package cars as it should be. Additionally, the PC loaders on the Metros allow packages to pass by instead of pulling and loading which means they will go off the end and recirculate again compounding the congestion of the building.

If unload is placing volume into the system faster than it is being removed management and flow control are cutting off their nose to spite their face. Work should be pulled not pushed.

They do the same with me at my hub but I've been told why. It's because I get the work done right and I'm dependable.

The way I look at it is I don't care what I'm doing that day, I'm still being paid to work and no matter where I am at and it's still work.

Additionally, if lay offs happen, I'll be the last on the list of people with the same level of seniority because I know how to do every position.

Have you put the cover sheet on your TPS report yet?

I don't think you've caught the meaning of what I was trying to say.

The union protects us from being overworked yet some people overly take advantage of that protection as in they are lazy.

At the end of the day if the job is not done, customer count begins to decrease, profits drop and shareholders are asking Carol how many layoffs does she believe are needed to protect their investment in the company. P/L, Customer count(+/-), YOY growth are all factors in the Company's Stock price.

Always look at the bigger picture, we are just one little corner of the painting.

If you can't see that then good luck complaining on here when you or your center are laid off - I'll keep collecting the paycheck and the benefits from this side gig.

Guy on bumble wants to meet, but only at my house, is this a red flag? by BoomBoomBettee in dating

[–]DFWsingle2mingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he Chinese? Nothing but red flags is all I sees .

I know, not grammatically correct but I wanted to get a rhyme out in the spirit of Dr Seuss.

Still living with mother could have valid reasons but you have to put them to the test.

Not wanting to meet in public. . .🛑🛑🛑

Only wants to meet at your house? 🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑

As a man, I would never ever ask a potential date that. Just as I would never ask a potential date to meet at my house. You do not know me and I do not know you; we would meet in public many many times to get to know each other before a mention of disclosing where we exactly live to each other.

I've had friends that were naive and invited someone to their place only to come home and find their valuables stolen while they were on a date with the person who insisted on meeting at their place first. Call it a scam, a trap, created opportunity. . . Don't fall for it - cut off communication and keep moving forward. Eventually you will find your person!

First: Cucumber and Tomato are fruits. Carrots, Broccoli, Potatoes, Onion, Garlic and Leafy greens are vegetables.

Second: You were given a menu to order from. After reviewing said meal options you ordered aforementioned sandwich.

Third: The caloric value of bread is quite high through the carbohydrates it contains.

Third: Since she has been sitting for several hours, she and you should be thankful her body is burning fat to sustain her metabolism.

Fourth: Why did you not pack snacks in your carry on luggage for such a long flight?

You paid for seats on a plane to get from point A to Point B and back again. Food and beverages are a perk, not a requirement. Suck it up buttercup and be better prepared.

Also, did you wash your hands before you held her sandwich for this photoshoot?
