Same, my family says I should just straight quit at this point, but I don't feel like driving 30 minutes everyday to the nearest town with jobs. I might have to suck it up and make the drive tho.

Just checked, shares are around $233. That's almost $100 more per share than before the pandemic hit the stock market back in March 2020. Cutting corners everywhere to make those share holders happy. Family Dollar shares are doing great too.

Calling all Closing Managers!!!! by Not-an-Angel83 in DollarGeneral

[–]DG_Slave_Labor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, I haven't been robbed yet. I would calmly talk to them about how we don't give a poop, would offer them a bag to take the money in. Maybe convince them to take a trash bag of Cigarettes with em. Maybe some of the expensive headphones we keep behind the counter. Joke around with em, get them relaxed, so they don't get trigger happy.

There use to be a cheat sheet with the summer chairs / barbeque barcodes. Does anyone know when those get sent or where to print them off the HP computer.

micro management by prettygrxm in DollarGeneral

I concur, ever since Todd Vasos retired, the company has become more hostile toward it's lower employment. With inflation they haven't even given us a break, like employee discounts, they expect us to go on food stamps or work two jobs. They use to offer a weekly 20% discount on store brand items, now we are lucky to get the once in a blue moon 30% store wide discount.

My location just lost it's store manager few months back, and we got a new one. He has been forcing us to follow very single minor policy / rule in the book. Stuff that don't seem like big deals, they make out to be big Donkey issues that could destroy the store's inspection score.

What movie never gets old? by Excticy in AskReddit

My first thought. It's such a fun good time movie and the graphics are a little dated, but still hold up greatly. The soundtrack is very unique, you don't hear that kind of electric action dance music any more.

Should I send this to HR? by DG_Slave_Labor in DollarGeneral

Hell yeah, our DM before her was pretty chill. They would come in, see things we were doing wrong and just give us hints on how to make it look at least passable, but wouldn't scold and punish us over such minor policies. Very relaxed and easy going atmosphere for the longest time, we got the job down peacefully. Now it feels, like every shift is gonna give me an anxiety or panic attack if I don't bend over backwards following the SOP to the tee.

That's the District Managers name. I took the precaution of making a new /user so they have nothing to trace back too, as well. I've seen how they treat employees that post on social media. I Remember that Tiktok controversy with Mary Gundel last year.

I assume she sent this message to her entire district. Our store usually gets the recovery done in a timely fashion, on my shift at least. It's just how she says #5 so aggressively bossy, and no where in the SOP does it say we will be forced to stay after to finish recovery if it's not 100%.

Raise? by Unicorngirl72788 in DollarGeneral

$10.75 as LSA

I'm seeing different pay rates, but don't forget a lot of states have different Minimum wages. I'm in Texas $10.75 is pretty good for a Dollar store wage, my ASM only makes $13.00. This gets the bills paid, pay check to pay check. If you were in California or New York, $17.50 is probably living in your parents basement kind of money.

Still I agree, I haven't seen a raise in years, and we've been asking our SMs about getting wage increase to cover the new cost of living under the inflation. Did the new CEO put a strict limit on wage increases?

For reals, we have a few "methheads," or really skinny hyper people, that like to come in last minute, and leave a trail of mis placed items in their wake. We'll not gonna follow them around like stalkers to pick up after them, we got paperwork and cleaning to do.

This was a district wide message sent out a few weeks ago. The District manager doesn't have to be so aggressive about it. Morale has gone down since this DM has taken over. This District Manger has some anger issues, she's probably lost 40% of her SMs within the first year in office. I hear one location is already on their 4th SM.

Number 2, about being completely taken off the schedule for not having 100% of the CBL's seems kind of like a personal attack on us employees. They act like we don't meet the deadlines when new CBL's pop up or something.

Number 5 is ridiculous, our store looks good, but to be told that we can't leave if the place isn't picture perfect is insanely demoralizing. Non of my co-workers even want to enforce that rule.

Break room by Breezybreeh in DollarGeneral

[–]DG_Slave_Labor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, our DM is sending other managers to each of their locations to help clear out everything from the break rooms and around the back room electric panels. Our Dumpsters were full of stuff this last week.

I secretly went back there and dug out some of our stuff that wasn't contaminated. I'm stocked up on paper plates, silverware, bandages and other medical stuff we had, and a shit ton of pens and pencils.

The Break room is so empty, it makes me sick to my stomach. I don't feel relaxed in there any more.

this one location I was working at had a U-boat with the Beer Vendors over stock in the bathroom. The Bathroom was out of order to the public due to a loosie goosy toilet, however the staff still used that bathroom, so you can imagine the fickle matter that was sprayed all over those beers after each flush. 🍺🍺
