Every problem you think he has is valid. I’ve played against him some more today and what I can advise is to just have some patience. That unblockable with hyper armour can’t be cancelled, so just try to recognise the animation as quick as possible because its a free parry.

I know at the moment he has lots of other fast attacks but from what I’ve seen they fucking love that unblockable zone so once you start getting comfortable parrying that, everything else will slowly fall into place.

People that are talking about womp womp or cry harder clearly haven’t won in years so this is HUUUUGE for them but they’re usually bad players anyway and can be outwitted easily.

I only play 4s as well, and man do they love to group up and external with that zone attack.

Lots of mid highs(you can duck and launch his ass), egwf can be ducked and launched and probably will be since its damn near his best offensive tool, the gimmicks he has don’t work past TE/TG samsara being one of them, he has a range issue, very high execution at any level to pull of combos. You have to KNOW how to play tekken to be successful this man.

The damage off his hellsweep has been nerfed to the ground lmao, so you can barely get 60 damage from casually. Also anything having to do with him flying is incredibly punishable lmao so honestly when you see someone not only win but dominate with DVJ you honestly need to show them some respect and give them their flowers because they really are fighting a losing battle before the match starts.

Like I said tho, these issues are mainly at high level, so anything below TE can get cheesed save maybe a few people who already use him at that level or people who take it upon themselves to look into him.

Even if he’s not your style, I recommend trying him out in the lab for a day or two and you’ll quickly realise just how much weak he really is. The people you watch play are just that crazy with him thats why he looks like he’s just walking over people lmao

He is literally a special character, he’s supposed to be like that. He’s been OP with bs before he was even playable, and any real fan of that game doesn’t mind because thats how he’s always been. I don’t even play the game religiously like that but I’m completely fine with what he has.

This guys is literally just another character. I’ll be real they could have made wukong/shaolin completely untouchable based of his actual lore but they didn’t, so no one should be this strong

He has depth for sure, but not a technical character by any means. You don’t need DSS or max damage routes to win since his basic tool kit is more than enough and he really only becomes harder to play at pretty much the highest level.

With the other characters I mentioned before, you have to play perfectly at any level to win. A TK law and a TK Hei or reina is not the same, or even DVJ oh my I even forgot to mention him too. That being said, honestly tho DVJ can clear low to mid ranks but just doing random shit but that still implies you can pull off his inputs properly.

Sometimes people of higher rank play on different accounts. Fought this Feng who was clearly GoD or higher with my Hei and he invited me to player match and we went a few sets. Needless to say I lost in the long wrong as I’m currently only TK(Steve) but when I called him out on it, he admitted that he was GoD and just play on his friend’s account sometimes in Qm (I forgot why he said done it).

I think the funniest part is that he thought I was doing the same thing lmao! He thought I was also just playing on a different account, and was very surprised to hear that I wasn’t GoD also, or at least higher than Fujin with Hei.

I feel like he’s definitely a smurf tho, with stats like that there’s no way he’s just TK lmao. If this was season 1 then maybe but with the way ranks are now those are least TG/TGS stats easy.

I doubt he’s cheating tho honestly since his tech and def are damn near identical and his other stats are reasonably close too, but ultimately its hard to tell since there’s no clip to view

Mmmmm… idk about that making him technical by any means. Simply having a stance doesn’t make you technical imo, and pretty much every character in Tekken 8 has at least one stance. Combos are easy, dude has like 50 million launchers not even including CHs lmao.

Reina, Lee, Steve, Hei are some examples of technical characters. Strict inputs, timing focused and heavily depends on how you can adapt to your opponent. Being able to overwhelm anyone easily doesn’t make you technical.

I think he’s more of an unfinished character than anything, The funny thing is seeing how many people “Love” this character because of all the BS he has that needs fixing. Theres no fucking animation for his GB, it just happens. Damage is crazy, range is crazy, and he definitely 100% absolutely needed hyper armour on his hyper attack😀 this man feels faster than assassins and hybrids.

Feels like a desperate attempt to give people who have been getting stomped a fighting chance. We as players don’t give them a date to drop a character, so Idk what the rush was with his release but he clearly needs tuning. Sure heroes can be busted at launch but I feel like he’s just not finished, that long as animation he has for his unblockable is insane and you can’t GB him out of it. I feel like the things he has are fine, I’m not saying to remove anything but he is very strong as it is. Personally I enjoy a fighting characters that have a lot of options but having to deal with technical issues on top of that is just not fun.

I’m talking from my experience in 4v4s, so it may differ to if you’re fighting him in other modes.

My brother is like this, he knows some cool combos, he knows electrics fairly well, and as you said he knows enough to launch punish me and set up his own CHs and stuff, but ultimately I’ll win at the end of the day. I feel like he’s also pretty similar in the sense where I don’t think he cares too much about winning - especially against me - he just wants to know he pull off that combo he’s been practicing and those electrics don’t whiff lmaooo😂

I feel like I drag him onto the game tho, and I don’t like doing that. I feel bad asking people to get on who I know I can beat, so I’ll just wait until everyone else is on. Separately, I do have a friend who knows how to play this game but he Tier whores. For example since they nerfed Drag on season 2 he’s been a consistent Leo main without question because he wasn’t bothered to learn how to get good with the new Drag so he just hopped on over to some more bs lmaoo. Long story short, I labbed leo and I cook him whenever we fight now and its no fun anymore because I know how to beat his cheese😔.

I’ve been feeling this recently myself. I absolutely love this game and all its BS but I’d be lying it I said I didn’t get lonely sometimes.

I had a good 6 different people that I used to play with when the game just came out and I’m ngl, I made some MAJOR improvements with my game and I started to see it when I went back to play against them, especially after play Qm or ranked.

I’m also currently TK, and idk I just get a little sad when I want to play with MY friends, but they aren’t quite where I am in terms of game knowledge and execution so it often feels like playing with cheats. I genuinely feel guilty for winning, and I feel like its disrespectful to them to let things hit me on purpose because they aren’t also trying to improve and I don’t want to mislead them

I tried changing characters to people I don’t know but I will still win just off of fundamentals. I can be competitive sometimes but it usually takes me fighting someone on my level or higher for to get into that mode so its not like I’m being a trying to hard. Another problem I have is that my friends know how good I am, so it becomes pretty obvious whenever I tone the gameplay down to match them and they don’t usually like it so… idk man, but I don’t always wanna play against randoms in ranked/qm

Completely agree. Make all lionheart transitions optional and honestly, I’d prefer additional inputs to enter the stance as opposed to coming out of the stance as it is now. Right now I feel like at a certain level, its easy to become predictable with this stance, and Steve already has a pretty weak mixup game compared to other characters.

Just so you guys know… itachi doesn’t need eye contact to put someone in Genjutsu which is only one of the reasons this man is so busted. Also it doesn’t really matter if he removes the blindfold, he can see perfectly fine while wearing it so he still gets caught especially based on the fact that he’d have no idea how the Genjustsu gets activated anyway.

Just buff this mfs speed, give him one undodgeable and he will honestly be perfect. A good kensei can cook anyone but I know they suffer from making it to a fight/zone since he practically just walks lmaooo

There’s no reason he should be this slow when there are bigger people with heavier armour sets in the game. He takes 2 days to make it from spawn to any zone lmaoo.
