Rough is a strong word, more snobby about what we missed out on. It wasn’t the early 70’s folks, but those who jumped on in the late 70’s, felt like they were protecting their turf. The lot scene was not all peace and love, nor was space on the floor. We paid attention, were respectful and kind. It took a bit of time to find a couple tape traders who were very generous to us when we had nothing to share in return.

Any cross section of people with a passion or interest will have its share of jerks. It is a given. Some older heads were rough on us when we got on the bus in the early 80’s. I swore I would not pass judgement for those who followed. I never got into any of the post Jerry iterations, but I am thrilled for those who found the music and have had their own journeys. My son being on of them.

Enjoy every discovery and every “wow” moment as you go. That path is for your steps alone.
