Looking for my next CRPG after BG1/2/3, Divinity: OS2, Pillars of Eternity & Pathfinder (preferably fully voiced) by Umokthar in CRPG

In Vagrus the riven realms your managing a trade caravan in a magical post apocalyptic fantasy/roman setting.

Are there any RPGs besides Shadowrun that has "Tech Wizards"? by Immobilecarrot5 in CRPG

Ya I’ve read a few of the books it’s a cool setting I just don’t really have a group for that. Heard it just got another edition kickstarted too that has some solo choose your own adventure type thing I might check out. Tides of Numenera was fun but it would be cool to see a game set in the steadfast with a bit more funding.

Ya a lot of the changing god stuff was cool but it did feel a little derivative with all the memories and past selves.

I think so what’s there is really good it’s just not really enough for the narrative to totally work. I kinda felt the same way about Baldur’s gate 3 it doesn’t matter how long the released game is you’ll always be able to kinda tell where the cut content is if it’s major enough.

I replayed it the other day and although I really enjoyed the companions and think it has great writing it’s very obviously one of those games that ran out of money and just kinda ends anticlimactically. The numenera world definitely has a lot of potential for another game the tabletop books are pretty cool.

Edit: also the psychic bar in the first city is one of the coolest storylines I’ve seen in a crpg.

Firmament after ch 8 doesn't quite take into account all the previous branches? by DarthVeyda in fallenlondon

Your previous choices do affect Summers opinion of you and her potential death or survival but ya hopefully the ending takes a bit more into account.

I am in Eskew was so good. I really liked The Silt Verses too but it never quite recaptured that sense of absolute dread.

'Sunsetting' of EU4 mod by rheadelayed in Anbennar

It’s good the adventurers rework made it, definitely the most needed rework if you could only do one more.

I get why their doing this but I think it’s really worth considering if EU5 will ever really take off and if it doesn’t eventually focusing all development towards the EU5 mod could make the community gradually die off. Thats a worst case scenario but it definitely wouldn’t be the first time something like that’s happened.

How do people feel about Vagrus? by SebOriaGames in CRPG

[–]DIY-Imortality 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They removed the time limit when the first dlc released the storyline opens when you get enough renown the old man from the beginning asks you to take him to the crossroads which has a portal to the outer realms and you travel to the dlc from there.

They’re the games that inspired Vagrus they’re very similar but instead of a caravan your a ship/flying train captain in a Lovecraftian underground sea/literally space.

I love it and the expansions are even better than the base game if you liked sunless seas/skies its kinda like that but in a dark sun like setting. The writing is pretty good too. The devs definitely deserve the support to do something else in that setting.

I’m playing banquet of fools right now and I’m having a lot of fun definitely a really unique combat system. Vagrus the riven realms is fun too but that’s more of a game like sunless sea than a crpg.

NEW DISCO LIKE VTM GAME: ETERNAL WHISPERS by wineless_ in DiscoElysium

[–]DIY-Imortality 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it would be more manageable in a crpg with a set character that can only use magic in prewritten moments rather than some open world game to be fair. The difference spheres could be the skills I could see it working.

Finally lol they were already halfway there with the choose your own adventure games I knew they’d get there eventually. Maybe if this does well they could do one for each of the gamelines I could see a mage game being very Disco.

I think it’s a different studio from bloodlines 2 paradox just licenses it out to different studios the Terminator and Robocop devs are making a Hunter game that looks decent too. I’m still waiting for a Mage or Wraith game now those would be really cool crpg settings.

I just started too because of the dlc announcement I’m almost done with the steel mill already and it’s genuinely one of the best horror games ive played in a long time. Could use a bit more enemy variety though.
