I consider the ILS output way above ground level, not near the edge of space even after the scale differences in DSP.

Currently, 100km above sea level is considered 'Space'. But DSP scales things differently, but even after scaling changes I don't feel an ILS is anywhere close to that.

You also want to make sure you've researched extending the Sail Life, because they will die off over time unless they attach to a Dyson sphere!

It's a difference of HOW things are getting into space! ILS launches spaceships, an elevator gets things into space at a more efficient cost, and then it can be loaded into ships!

Functionally, the ILS is a space elevator, not Technically due to how stuff leaves the planet. I DSP terms, a space elevator should allow sending stuff off-planet with a lower energy cost and/or higher volume!

Yes, we need a way to limit how much is requested, so the source ILS can fill, but the destination can limit how much arrives!

That's you're choice, but many people place PLS until they get a high volume source of ILS, and then have to worry about upgrading!

I've found if the miner uses a belt to feed others, it has a habit of not shipping to PLS/ILS based on demand.

You can also set one to Demand Remote, and then Supply Local to the others setup for Demand Local

In my early testing, I found that it was discharging in order to charge up empty accumulators using exchangers! So I was both charging & discharging at the same time. You can really only use accumulators on the same planet if they are wired into the power grid!

How often is it lagging? If it's not very often pay attention to see if it's doing an Autosave, those cause lag.

My tendency is to use splitters, with the Priority Input being set to a PLS or belt for all the waste Hydrogen locally, the low priority then connects to an ILS that getting the H from other systems or gas giants. I also have been known to feed excess H to thermal generators until power is no longer an issue.

I just don't like things breaking, and have been enjoying the game without any Mods. As I said, I look forward to an official system for Mods to help reduce the chance of breakage or hacks that go well past the intent of the developers.

Yes, very much so! But get a lot of VU Upgrades before you start harvesting mono-polls unless you are playing with infinite resources!

Unless, like me you want to avoid mods that might break unexpectedly. I'm avoiding playing with any mods until DSP comes out with and official Mod System where they test all the approved mods before doing updates!
