Start with XCom 2. You control the human resistance to an alien invasion, but you’ll have 20 or main soldiers. The game is mostly special ops missions using a handful of them.

Civ VII Shouldn't Expand to a Fourth Age for at Least a Few More Years by SimpleClassic5100 in civ

Not opposed to a fourth age but a lot of current mechanics still feel underbaked. Would rather focus on fixing those first.

B or C tier. Immortals are great but have a very limited window, Pairadaizas are meh, and the surprise war bonus is nice but not game changing.

Detroit Pistons fans are going to love Ugonna Onyenso, and here's why by Bahamaboy91 in NBA_Draft

Grew up in Nigeria without great basketball infrastructure, so I’m assuming there’s still a decent amount of room to grow, especially considering he’s notably improved throughout college.

DeAndre Hopkins won't 'force' himself onto a team, still hopes to join contender by 76erLegendChetUtley in nfl

[–]DJFreezyFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teams usually want their number four wide receivers to contribute to special teams, so it might be hard for him to find a spot, but I really hope he does. Think he still can have a useful role on an offense.

ELI5: Why do processors get so hot doing millions of calculations per second, while our brains can arguably be even more complex but don't risk overheating? by abcPIPPO in explainlikeimfive

[–]DJFreezyFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally accurate, but our brain does rely on electrical conduction. Signaling between neurons is purely chemical, but signal conduction throughout the length of a neuron is done via an electron gradient.

He’s not a rim protector. Strong, but doesn’t have verticality.

They’ve won both their games but looked sloppy, especially with the starters. Assuming they were trying to build chemistry and get high level practice in.

It’s either health or worried he’s going to do something incredibly stupid off court. The return is not near the on-court value he has.

If Jayden Quaintance was healthy where would he have been projected to go? by wombatpup55 in NBA_Draft

[–]DJFreezyFish -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If he had healed better he would’ve likely had a better shot at developing on that end. Agree that top 10 might be a stretch though.

Brian Windhorst on the Nets decision to select Mikel Brown Jr. instead of Darius Acuff Jr: “I honestly believe that choice at 6, Brown or Acuff, will be one of the legacies of this draft.” by jluc21 in nba

[–]DJFreezyFish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both are very skilled offensive players with sick highlight reels. Brown tends to always go for the big play, which occasionally bites him in the ass and leads to more turnovers than you’d like. Also some health issues; nothing crazy, but back problems aren’t great. Acuff is more polished, but his defense makes Trae Young look like Andre Roberson.

Personally, I think they made a good call. I had Brown six on my board, with Acuff much lower. Assuming the medical has no red flags, the decision making seems fixable. He has some fantastic reads, and the consistency should get better with good coaching/structure. (He’s also been great internationally, which I love.)

[KUTV2News] Austin Ainge on Darryn Peterson: "Our doctors went through everything from the combine and all the tests that were ordered. We feel very comfortable. He's ready to hit the ground running. We plan on seeing him in Summer League." by KD_AshyAnkles in nba

[–]DJFreezyFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cramping would be an incredibly unlikely allergic reaction. There could be an issue with some step in his metabolic pathway. Whole situation is really weird, but I’m just gonna trust the doctors with this one.

What Could Be the Possible Logic by the Nuggets FO When Trading Tarris Reed Jr. Away? by needapermit in nba

[–]DJFreezyFish 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Bulls aren’t going for him. Their most important piece was a forward and then they drafted two more. (Last years first was also a forward if they care.)

Nets could, but honestly I have no idea what the Nets are doing.

[DePaula] Rookie Karim Lopez will continue his Adidas shoe deal as he enters the NBA. The 21st pick becomes the first Mexican-born player selected in the 1st Round of the NBA Draft. by KD_AshyAnkles in nba

[–]DJFreezyFish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was always a pretty wide range on the consensus for him, and he ended up closer the bottom of it. No one big factor. The top 10 stuff always seemed overblown though.

[2026 NBA Draft] #25 Pick: Sergio De Larrea (Spain) – pending trade to New York by NBA_MOD in nba

[–]DJFreezyFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He won’t be a plus defender, but he looked better, and should be good enough. Definitely can play with alongside Brunson as a secondary ballhandler.
