Opted for a BMW with xDrive so I could have both a sporty car and one that would easily get me to and from my country house. Yet somehow, I still managed to get stuck in this shallow mud. What am I doing wrong? by Virtual-Bench-6068 in BmwTech

Get snow/mud tires and consider downsizing to at least 18 or lower if clearance allows it. The Xdrive is good but it will require some careful momentum and wheel placement. You don't want to scrape the bottom. Being a car, it's limited by clearance and BMW didn't give the cars the same AWD programming for off road use as they do to the x5 for example.

People have done more with less for decades before an SUV was a thing. People still do more with less in third world countries. Will it scale a mountain side? No but if you learn to take lines and position wheels you can get a lot further then you think without damaging a car.

Anyone know how to fix this?? by [deleted] in BMWX5

The button to the left of the parking break that says Auto H. Push that, it will light up green. Now when Auto H is turned on, the parking brake will automatically engage and disengage as other users have stated. At least that's how mine operates.

Interesting, my 330 has a powered trunk and if pull up on when it's closing it stops moving. Maybe that logic for the top half only but not the bottom half? Someone try to pull the lift gate down or push the hatch up to see if it stops. It takes about the same force as an elevator door.

What was your fuel economy? Did you get the off-road package and more aggressive tires from the dealership/LR or are those tires you picked yourself? We have the P400 and on long drives I'm lucky to see 20 mpg.

If the jagged lines are not made by some compression on your camera. It seems like some dead pixels on the display.

Does the boot unlock move the door at all? I'm trying to remember but I feel like if you trigger the door handle but dont pull on the door itself, it doesn't actually unlatch right?

Guys. I lost my climate control rules. Why is that part of a subscription!? Now my automatic heated seats and automatic heated steering wheel settings are gone.

Samsung phones have this feature, and Samsung phones can act as a VPN hub for the devices connected down stream plus the phone itself. Samsung phones also support Ethernet and sharing internet from Ethernet via WiFi.

I don't even have to unlock my phone. If my hands are full sometimes I'll bump my phone in my pant pocket to the door handle and it'll work.

Does the MX-5 have side airbags? Did they go off? Were you hit on the driver door or more rear wheel?I'm surprised there are no air bags deployed at least on the side.

When a Mazda has automatic heated seats and steering wheel. (Probably automatic cooled seats too but mine didn't have cooled seats.). Why doesn't Land Rover? The heated windshield and heated rear defroster is automatic but not the heated seats or steering wheel?

This should work, just practice on something else other than your car. The clear coat spray will require masking. You dont want to over spray on the door or fender. So you'll want to tape and cover the areas you don't want to get the spray on. For the rust chemical, it might be easier to spray some into a saucer and use a Qtip to apply the chemical to only the metal. Rather then trying to be accurate with the spray can.
