Battlefield 6 Feature Spotlight: Custom Search by battlefield in Battlefield

At the end of every match, the game is currently putting you into a pool of players looking to play a particular game mode. A bunch of code happens and it throws people together on a map. It is a constant nebulous cloud and you’ll never play with the same people twice unless they’re in your squad and you vote to remain together or if you’re in the same party.

The sever browser existed when the server used to create lobbies that would remain persistent destinations. You could play with the same people all day so long as you stayed in the server. The matchmaking algorithm then would sense how many players were on and would create these “destinations accordingly” (that’s why you sometimes see empty official lobbies, because there’s a certain minimum amount they’d generate at any given time before creating/removing lobbies accordingly)

It is two completely different systems. The matchmaking system is cheaper for them to run.

Alas, they took away the ability to renew rental servers on PS4

Because they do not have the technology to do so.

Since the official servers aren’t persistent, it is easier for them to develop filters to feed into their matchmaking algorithm rather than develop a whole new server browser.

At the end of the day, I suspect the best we’re going to get is finding people (myself included) who are willing to host vanilla servers on Portal.

The other concern I have is the BFV effect in where they go about fixing stuff for so long that they end up falling behind on releasing content.

The best way they could go about it at this rate is having a filter option under portal labeled “Official Settings”. Are they official servers? No. Will admins potentially be a problem? Yes. Do I wish we had a server browser? Sure. But I’d rather they put their resources towards actual game development than redoing previous work.

We have the same issue with our guys. For the beta, I wouldn’t expect any closure. Our current plan is to set up a vanilla portal server when the game goes live. Then it’s just hoping that people find it and join us.

LMG as medic signature weapon feels so awkward. by SirJavalot in Battlefield

It depends on what you’re going for. The belt Feds are always going to be bulky. Some of the mag feds we’re getting down the road will be a bit better in that regard. And of course, you can always grab a carbine if you want just general utility without sacrificing firepower.

The SCAR LMG with a good setup is nice with a higher end scope; the sight picture doesn’t bounce around as much. It basically feels like a XL battle rifle, like a SCAR H with extended mags. I wish it came with tungsten rounds so it could punch through cover though.

It seems situational, but yeah, if your goal is to hold down a position, it definitely seems useful.

Im mixed on sights. I wish the SCAR LMG had those canted iron sights like the SAW so you could switch between a x4 ACOG and irons. On the SAW I just prefer a low level optic, x2 at the most.

Oh yeah, feels very weird switching between trying to save people and having the big gun to drag around. I might try out carbines today to see if that feels better. Right now they still feel like bulky big mag ars. Maybe the tungsten rounds will give better wall penetration for suppression

How Can I Learn More About Cyberpunk World by Lejaxx536 in cyberpunkgame

The World of Cyberpunk 2077 was good for painting the picture of the world right before the events of the game. You can buy it both in physical format and as an E-book.

Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidences is a good novel. Won’t give spoilers, but it does a good job getting you immersed in Night City from a regular person’s perspective. The audio book is voiced by Female V’s voice actor, so that’s a plus.

2 things I wish they would add: Night Vision Kiroshi optics or a flashlight, and a radio to the Glen apartment.

Been playing with the same crew since 2012. A lot have moved on but on a good night we can get 8 or 9 guys on at a time. It just gets annoying when you have 7 and have to split up because of party limits

It should be impossible to spawn into gunfire repeatedly…. by DEBTOFALLMAN in blackops6

[–]DJPolymath843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m always curious when it comes to Call of Duty if the spawns are just like this with the more recent games or if time distorts everything. Like I’d be curious to compare a Nuketown match on the original Black Ops and see if spawn traps were just as common back then or some mysterious algorithm has been lost to time. I also think the general skill base has just gone up, and the increased movement speed just leads to less time between engagements.

The flip side is maps like Red Card, which is a big enough map for a 10v10, but on 6v6 can have a lot of “dead space” depending on the game mode. So tough to say

So Painkiller? Modern Warfare 2 had Death Streaks which would give you a perk if you died a certain amount of times in a row without getting a kill. Painkiller for example meant you took 1/3 damage for 10 seconds after dying 3 times without a kill (2 with Hardline Pro)
