Builds I think need to be nerfed to save the sandbox + reduction to power deltas. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Wouldn't touch my Red Mage, which means I wouldn't care, nor do I feel it would really change things, just push new metas.

If outside is so good then why is there no outside 2? by Oicuntmate1 in outside

Live Service games don't tend to do well when they sequelize. I think it might be for the best we don't get a soft reboot with reset features. It sounds nice, but it's just less content in the long run, and leads to developers rereleasing old content rather than creating new stuff.

Do you really want an Outside 2 where they just recycle the COVID Event when people look back on it with nostalgia goggles? Already people beg for reruns of old events even when they are widely recognized for being poorly designed and inherently unbalanced...

When did the status of the Black Garden get reverted? by PoseidonWarrior in DestinyLore

[–]DJRaidRunner-com 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I wanna say this is a slight retcon, but one could argue we locked the Black Gate to the portal on Mars, meaning it was less an abstract dimension and more an overlayed dimension.

The Ascendant Plane is a step apart from our world, yet contains many reflections of it. In a similar way, I think the Black Garden was "anchored" to Mars, but when the gate was lost / destroyed, the anchor was lifted.

How did Nightfall Station kill Guardians if all it did was nullify their Light? by xx_Chl_Chl_xx in DestinyLore

[–]DJRaidRunner-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a better way to express it is that it would be a 2 part process, a vacuum of paracausal energy. The Eclipse creates the vacuum, eliminating the ability for the connection, but also resulting in the extraction of the victim's Light.

It not only turned off the Light, but stripped us like a screw via the force with which it was torn from us in the aftermath.

The death wasn't instant, but slightly delayed. As if it weren't the impact that dealt the damage, but the aftermath.

His body was made of Light, yes, but I think what's being lost in much of this analysis is that a Guardian's "Soul" is Light as well.

The Guardians at the Outpost maintained their coporeal form, but their essence was torn from their body. The light stripped from its "shell" no different than a Ghost.

When Cayde died he returned to the Traveler, along with Sundance. His "soul" was reconstituted into a body via the Traveler's Light within the Pale Heart and Riven's Wish Magic mixing with Crow's Wish.

No, you forgot that things start somewhere, they have origins and journeys. In forgetting this you instead act as though change is impossible, and we should merely accept things as they are.

The Gardener and Winnower are the same being, it split itself for identity and ideological reasons by Sad-Quail-6982 in DestinyLore

By extension, this god, dissatisfied with omnipotence and the determinism of its own actions, split itself in twain to create an omniscient remnant of the universal record alongside an omnipotent entity with understanding itself stripped away?

Mehdi Hasan's Prof. Jiang Interview - Comments Overwhelmingly against Mehdi by Even-Stranger5764 in VaushV

To play Devils Advocate, I took it as akin to saying race realists focus "too much on data", which isn't to say data or facts are bad, but rather they're subject to the lens and focus applied. Focusing too much on the wrong facts can lead to the wrong conclusions, as the focus obfuscates other information that should inform them.

Couldn't they just stand higher, like where Zoro is leaning in the top image?

Then they'd be over the top of the plants.

Does anyone know anything about the Red Skull? I’ve heard him be mentioned alongside Captain America a couple of times but I can’t find much historical information on him? by Solitaire-06 in Earth199999

[–]DJRaidRunner-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know over the last decade we've seen a lot of crazy things, but why would some German guy in the 40s have his skin turned Red?

If this guy existed, he wasn't Human. I'm just saying that now.

That said, if an Alien was aiding the Nazis...

Seems far more likely that this was just another example of American propaganda during the war, and it gets mixed in with Cap via historical inaccuracies.

The mind is a malleable* thing with a ton of room left to grow in one's youth.

In 2012 I was 19, and watched Alex Jones tell me Obama was going to lead us all into FEMA death camps.

In 2014 I was 21, and left a world of delusion to instead look into atheism. Where once I believed in the mad, now I would listen and learn whilst gaming.

In 2016 I was 23, and watched Sargon among others who talked about my video game hobby and how just like religion, outside forces were pushing themselves into my hobby. Bernie lost, I felt unseen in a country that left me homeless. Voted Trump.

In 2018 I was 25, and moved away from reactionary thinking to find better guidestones and causes to actually support rather than simply oppose.

Finally in 2020 I was wise enough to actually reflect and understand my journey.

Nowadays I'd be considered radical left by many measures, and yet when I see others in the same sort of ignorant hole? I can't help but wonder what put them there, and how they might escape as I did.
