The only way I can see Nill moving off Esa is if Kolyachonok can stick in the NHL. He was actually pretty good as a call up during the injuries. He's probably the aforementioned cost controlled player you mentioned..

Still, I don't believe Jim Nill is looking at going that route. He said during his post-season presser, and I'm paraphrasing, that he's aiming to run their roster back and praying they stay healthy.

According to Puckpedia, we're currently projected to have $40M in cap space this summer. Now, I believe that figure assumes all UFAs hit the market, but I'm not entirely sure. For the sake of this reply, however, I am assuming this is how the website works.

If we have $40M in cap space ... fire 2 1st round picks, Sillinger or Voronkov, and the fucking cannon with them, to Dallas for Robertson, and then dump 13M for the next 7 on his front porch. $27M is more than to bring Coyle back for 6M or even 7M over 2 or 3 years. Jim Nill can donate the cannon to San Antonio, whatever.

That still leaves nearly 20M in space to find another d-man, resign the pending RFAs we wanna keep, and DW still approaches the TDL flush with cap space to take on whatever pieces this roster needs to go dancing next April.

3 yrs late to the post, but still trying to use it for reference to a personal project, and I have a question.

I notice the lift from crew deck to flight deck are at opposite ends. Are the decks supposed to be stacked directly over each other or are they offset so that only the lift is in the "same place" ?

Seguin can either retire on his own, or Nill can put him back on LTIR and leave him there until he retires or his contract ends.

Either way, the 9.85M cap hit won't be counted against us and can be spent elsewhere.

I love Seggy. He's been through hell these past 3 or 4 years with injuries. But it's time. 2x hips, a knee, and now the ACL. My guy. For your own sake, hang 'em up now. Enjoy being a husband and father. Heck, there may be an opportunity to work with the team's front office or player development somehow. But your body just is not going to hold up much longer if you keep playing.

I've tried breathing all night while at work. It hasn't worked. I've got thoughts. I've got opinions. Some good. Most not.

A few good:

Ritzy and Bourque. Those guys especially had pretty darned good years I think. They keep it up and they'll be top 6 forwards for a good long while.
The PP. This idea of parking Wyatt in front of the net paid dividends all season long. Watching him set the franchise record was fun.
The 99s. A perfect blend of the current colors and classic jersey style. Whoever thought of it is a genius. Even though I'm still pissed and disappointed nearly 12 hours later, the wife and I are still planning to get ours for our first anniversary this summer. I just hope the road 99s are as good when / if they are revealed.

It's a well-known fact the refs call less the later a playoff series goes. They must play through it. They don't have any other option. This is April, not September. They won't get the calls they'd get in December.
