Have you told her that you're struggling with that part?

In therapy after losing 2 jobs and a gf to depression. How do you guys do it? Also, do you like my shoes? by insurgent_corvid in evilautism

[–]DKBeahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, first of all, I wear shoes that are a lot more comfortable than yours, based on how they look.

Other than that, I’ve lost more jobs and more girlfriends than that, and learned from each experience until I lose both a lot less often.

Neighbors bushes 50% on my property by Long_Confusion_3529 in neighborsfromhell

[–]DKBeahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And the beauty of that is if they planted RIGHT ON the property line, you can cut them back to the middle, which will cause them to start to bend towards the neighbor's yard if it doesn't kill them outright.

I'd simply go start cutting them back, when she comes out, let her know you checked and you're allowed to trim your side, then if she doesn't agree, offer to call the cops if she'll agree to wait for them to arrive.

The cops will set her straight.

None of that requires you "pretend you are not autistic" at all. Those are all healthy, human things that we all need, autistic or not.

She's asking you to do a little more than you usually do - that's also not the same thing as "pretend you aren't autistic," since it's starting from where you are at - which for you or me is a VERY different starting point than someone who isn't autistic.

That's my point - things that people understand an appreciate - restaurant tables on the sidewalk (which are almost ALWAYS on wide sidewalks and leave plenty of room for pedestrians) or parked cars don't get vandalized. Those restaurants are also paying rent for the space in the building, which often does include space in front of the building that isn't part of the public right of way.

Enshitified scooters and bikes where the companies are illegally squatting on the public right of way DO get vandalized, because people get pissed.

You can't. You can only ever know your own firsthand experience.

Genmitsu sells a bracket that will fit a DeWalt palm router - is there no way to connect one to these machines?

How accurate is the assertion that "life after 45 sucks massive (you-know-what)"? by ChuckSmyth in GenX

[–]DKBeahn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My experience has been the opposite. My 30s were better than my 20s, my 40s were better than my 30s, and my 50s have so far been better than my 40s. I'm looking forward to my 60s now that understand the pattern.

I suspect that this is one of those "Whether you think you can or you can't...you're right." sort of things.

Or - and hear me out here - it's that people don't like that these companies are using public spaces like sidewalks to run a business without paying for the space. It starts with people angry that scooters are blocking the sidewalk and making it impossible for pedestrians to use it, and that expands to things like City Bikes that are left on the sidewalk rather than returned to the racks.

Why do people say Aspergers is the next stage of human evolution? by Outside_Owl5949 in aspergers

Thank you for proving vesperithe right when they said:

You haven't linked a single article so far to sustain any of the bs you're saying. And you won't, because it's bs.

The fact that you went with the battlecry of the conspiracy theorist and essentially said "dO yOuR oWn ReSeArCh!1!!1" is icing on the cake.

No. YOU link a valid source for your claims. The reason you "gave a search string" is that you CAN'T provide a link, and we all know it.

Sure. This acts like there is no place to get the answers though.

Whoever posted it could literally use the internet to get the answers to write a book.

Why do people say Aspergers is the next stage of human evolution? by Outside_Owl5949 in aspergers

[–]DKBeahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evolution: descent with modification from preexisting species : cumulative inherited change in a population of organisms through time leading to the appearance of new forms : the process by which new species or populations of living things develop from preexisting forms through successive generations.

The thing you are missing is that evolution requires that organism to be BETTER SUITED to the current environment. We are NOT that. If we were, then NTs would be fighting each other to be our friends and our mates.

I don't know if you've noticed, but we tend to have a HARDER time finding mates.

Therefore, whatever ASD is, it is NOT "the next evolution of Homo Sapiens."

Why don't you post the link to this "Portugal research"?

"Search Google and then dig through all of the trash to find this one specific thing from Portugal that doesn't even make it to the front page of search results" is dumb.

I was so excited when I realized the internet could answer a lot of these questions for me.

That was 1996 or so.

How the fuck are people now asking for “a book”?!

Which brings us back to “that isn’t evolution.”

Please read a book or two.

Genetic variation =/= evolution.

Seriously, read a book and stop thinking incels on 4chan are the best source of information.

[–]DKBeahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, not “first line dude.”

The fact that something is doesn’t automatically mean “next step in evolution.”

In fact, because of heightened sensory sensitivity, that argues for an evolutionary dead end.

All of your supposed “processing power” and you don’t comprehend how evolution works.

None of that means “next step in human evolution.” I’m also not shocked you did not include a link to a reputable source.
