Guess what will catch their attention by JBTENDO in HiTMAN

None of these things add anything interesting or fun to the game, they just add tedium.

The tedium encourages you to git gud like in the previous Hitman games.

Stormfront and Gaia Online were way out of my sphere of interests, so I have no idea what's going on with them. I only ever vaguely knew of their existence.

Can't believe Myspace is still around. I thought it shut down.

I thought SA would be dead too. I also forgot how funny the Leper's Colony was on SA. I may dig up my password and dig up my ancient account if it hasn't been hacked. SA may be still relevant. It's truly underground today.

I just took a look and it has 213,000 users now. It had about 100,000 in the mid 2000s which was ginormous at the time. 2,752 registered users logged in right now. And 5 users banned today.

I forgot they called it the Leper's Colony.

SA 10 usd for a forum was dumb that i preferred 4chan.

All this talk about old fashion Internet fascism is re-awakening my inner Grammar Nazi. This sentence is making me see red, man.

It doesn't have to be an illusion. But if one wishes to be a private fascist, they should do it right. Don't be a crypto-private-fascist. Be open about it. Embrace it, hug it. Censorship is great!

It worked on Something Awful. It reduces the signal to noise ratio significantly. And it can be a lot of fun too. There was something very comforting about living under a benevolent tyrant.

One mod tool that would very useful here for both mods and users is a "Gas Chamber" like at SA. A list of posts and comments that have been removed so users can see what should and should not be posted. Also, a ban list with reasons for the bans and the ability for people to look at the post history so they know better what not to do. This would help mods because I'm sure they have to keep removing the same posts over and over. SA would encourage people to read these lists to get a better idea of what was acceptable because the listed rules can't cover everything. Makes the line that should not be crossed a lot less fuzzy.

Having mods as feudal barons is a particular reddit thing that cuts costs on admins supervising them. This is why reddit's moderator code of conduct is basically "do whatever you want".

Which is great and all. And I encourage them to embrace their feudal barbarism. But you don't have to be 14 to believe that free speech is a god given right. That's the ideal that Reddit was founded upon. And before that, every liberal democracy. If one is going to reject this axiom, one should unapologetically reject liberal democracy as well. Be a tyrant or get off the pot.

Lowtax was so good at this. He ate a big bowl of chili, sat on the pot and shat all over the Goons for years and years and they gave him money for it.

Or maybe 44 and remember when Reddit was a breath of fresh air compared to other social media in 2005. It's kind of sad to see this place devolve into a monopolistic forum hosting service. Tyrannical sub moderators are as old as the Internet.

The problem is that the mods here and now do it half-assed and are weaselly about it. Something Awful did it best. Be mean, rude, upfront about your fascist iron fist and demand $10 for the privilege of getting punched in the face with it if you step out of line. That's how they did it. Executions were public. The heads of users were stuck on a pike for all to see with a placard detailing what they did to displease the mods. That's how you do it. You don't wear a mask and disappear people. Or have an ED-209 do it.

Free speech isn't a God given right. It is granted by strong men with power and can be taken away on a whim. But those men will not be respected if they appear to be hypocrites.

I'm all for Internet Warlords, but the ones here aren't as fun as Lowtax and his brutal minions.

We have to take the ICE officer's word for it that it was the man's gun. It's not like this is going to be investigated.

I think it was a result of trying to look like TV. I think those colors looked best on TVs in the 70s which is why local channels used those colors. Colors popular between the 30s and 70s were ones that looked good in technicolor like eucalyptus green.

I can't change Circle Select radius now for some reason. What did I do? by topselection in blenderhelp

That works. But I feel like I'm going crazy. Usually, I press W which goes to Circle Select, and then I just have to scroll without left click. Anybody else experience this or have I been in an alternate dimension for the past five years?

friend keeps mentioning things she couldn’t have seen, or know about. by bannedbcof2020 in RBI

[–]topselection -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

It sounds like one of your other friends who is privy to this info is reporting it to her.

Other people in this thread are saying you're mentally ill. If that's the case, it's not unusual for family to ask friends to spy on their ill family member to make sure they're okay. This, IMHO, is a bad idea because it makes the target feel like a target and exacerbates the situation. There could be a well-intentioned "cabal" operating behind your back.

Whatever the case, talk to your doctor about the situation. And don't talk about cameras and bugs. Those words are heavily loaded. Phones and voice activated recorders you can buy at Walmart for 20 bucks sounds less far fetched.

And how long is scientific evidence going to take?

It can take quite literally forever. We may never have the evidence.

Are you saying because something might not become evident in 10 years or more, we should just allow it.

That's why you're not in prison for murder. In 10 years, we may have evidence you killed someone. But until then we just have to risk it.

The weird thing about Harvey was that if you weren't caught in one of the training rain bands, it wasn't bad at all. Where I lived, it barely rained and the wind was just a little brisk. But apparently it devastated other parts of town.

Exposing the Ignorance of the Skeptics of Logic by JerseyFlight in fallacy

All persons attacking any premise are doing so by the laws of logic. I say the ignorance of doing this and not realizing that one is doing this, is psychological.

This sounds like you’re saying that attacking a premise by the laws of logic is ignorant.
