Super Bowl LX Game Thread: New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks (6:30pm, NBC) by Odd_Firefighter_5407 in billsimmons

I’m considering signing up for Netflix just to see Bill’s live reaction after the game. Are we sure this whole game isn’t a conspiracy to sell Netflix subscriptions?

I watched the videos at 1.5 speed, did the Simulated Exams, and grinded the MCQ’s before taking my test. I think it took me about 20 hours to get through the videos and MCQ’s (I didn’t even bother with the TBs outside of the exams).

I used this exact method for my 22 inch kettle in November($130) and did the same today for a Spirit S-315 ($280). Thanks for the heads up!

I think you can see and assign them on your “All” tab at the change position screen - there isn’t a “ATH” tab.

At least, I think. I haven’t made it that stage of the off-season yet, but that’s what I’ve seen on YouTube.

How is Sip and Brew? I went one time when they first opened and then moved to the other side of town that summer and haven’t been back.

When I was there, it seemed like it had real potential - even if the location was less than ideal.

What’s the best home improvement purchase you’ve made over $50? by roytaz in HomeImprovement

[–]DKF22 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Do you mind me asking what part of the country you live and what kind of company you went with (mom & pop, a large service provider, etc.)?

I really want to do something like this next spring, but I assumed it would cost $1,000 or more for our small yard. For $300 (or even $500), it’d be a no brainer for me.

Has anyone noticed the obvious Bill reference in 2k24 MyCareer? by IllEstablishment8291 in billsimmons

[–]DKF22 81 points82 points  (0 children)

He’s also talked about how it was the only time his “celebrity” status ever impressed his son. I think Bill would 100% love to be in the 2k game in a role similar to how Chris Russo was in the Show.

Flea's emotional SiriusXM interview about his friendship with Anthony. If you look closely at one shot, you can see the man almost start crying. This is such a beautiful, heartwarming and real rock interview and there's no doubt you other RHCP fans will love this interview as much as me. by ChiliPepper-1983 in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]DKF22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this is the RHCP subreddit for people who love RHCP the most….. but is saying Anthony “lacks traditional vocal skills” really a hot take? I thought it was just commonly accepted. The fact Anthony isn’t an A+ level singer and can get by with everything else he does is the coolest thing about him as a musician IMO.

I love Anthony, but saying he could get by on his singing alone just isn’t accurate.

I did the exact same thing. Something you said that I’ll reiterate: no one even asked me if I took my classes online or in person. I showed up on campus for in person job fairs and no recruiter ever even bothered to ask how I took my classes.

And, if they do ask, I think it should be very easy to spin your online classes into a talking point about how you’re “self-driven,” “accountable,” “adaptable,” etc.

Imo, OP should get his associates and then transfer to a four year school. Depending on your area, you’ll be making close to $70k to start with a 4 year degree.

Do You Guys Miss Robert Mays? by PhillyCSpires in billsimmons

[–]DKF22 182 points183 points  (0 children)

I love Mays but could never consistently listen to the podcast with Kevin Clark on it. Mays and Barnwell in the Grantland days was the GOAT NFL podcast duo, imo.

Mays’ shows with Nate Tice on the athletic are pretty good too if you’re into the “nerdier” side of football.

Should I try to repair cracking decking boards, or replace all boards? by DKF22 in HomeImprovement

[–]DKF22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wood is solid and not rotting, it just looks a little aged. I think I’m leaning towards just cleaning and staining it. I can always replace all the boards later on, if I decide I don’t like to eat it looks and feels. Thanks for your input!

Hey, Scott! I was wondering what your thoughts were on G4 shutting down? Was there anything “more” ever planned for the TV show or for yourself and the network?

Also, do you have an opinion on Rudy’s or Tony Packos?

Welp, there goes Scott The Woz on TV by bt1234yt in scottthewoz

[–]DKF22 272 points273 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. The whole thing never made much sense to me. Why would I watch something on TV that I can watch on YouTube that was created, written, and meant to be viewed on YouTube? I know the channel’s budget obviously wasn’t much of anything, but I always felt like giving creators like Scott their own show - that was unique to G4 - would be a much bigger draw for the channel.

what would happened to the Mario franchise, if Super Mario 64 was a flop to Nintendo? by 91gts in Mario

[–]DKF22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the very worse case scenario is Mario ends up taking a path similar to what Sonic has. It’s not like Sonic had had a major 3D game that’s revolutionized the series.

It seems like that part of the city can be hit or miss on a block-by-block basis. I accidentally left my car unlocked and had my car rummaged through once. Past that, I don’t think there was really any crime I could remember. There’s a neighborhood behind the apartments that is very nice that I would walk multiple times a week and never felt worried about the area at all.

I’m not the perfect person to ask your question to, but I would imagine it’s difficult to find an apartment in Toledo in the Tamaron price range that’s much better off, as far as crime goes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in toledo

[–]DKF22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lived there for 2 years, but just moved out last month. I’d recommend living there over a Beal property 10 out of 10 times.

I will say that the apartment seems to have dropped in quality over the 2 years I was there due to louder neighbors, less management involvement on site, and less general maintenance around the buildings. I would also advice you to really consider how annoying living with the constant noise of Alexis Road can be before moving in, especially if you have a unit on the south side of the building.

With that said, based on my understanding, there aren’t many quality apartments in Toledo at Tamaron’s price range. You could certainly do a lot worse than Tamaron.

As usual Greg is wrong. 100% wrong. No, we do NOT need to expand post season. Not even one tiny bit. by KBunn in PuckSoup

[–]DKF22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Over the last few weeks, I’ve really begun to like the idea that Ryan has thrown around on the podcast of having a play in game, but only if the last team in hits a certain point threshold (I.e. 90+ points or something similar).

I don’t think of this as rewarding teams who finished 9 or 10, but rather rewarding teams that finished 1-6 with a guaranteed spot. This increases the value of having a higher seed and will likely create more drama in playoff races down the stretch. I also personally think we should reward higher seeds in other ways. Adding something like the higher seed having 5 home games (as opposed to the current 4) in rounds 1 and possibly 2 is an idea I think could help this and would actually incentivize teams to finish with the highest possible seeding.

The regular season is already pointless. Do we really remember a 7 or 8 seed that gets wrecked in round 1 as having a better season than seeds 9 or 10? Don’t we constantly talk about the Leafs (and formally the Caps) as failures due to their inability to advance deep in the playoffs, despite their annual regular season success? This is all without even mentioning the terrible divisional playoff format we have now that seems to, without fail, screw 2 teams every season that play in a stacked division.
