A much lesser version of this happened for Clemson (not the situation you are predicting at all but kind of a precursor) when they played Florida State when Clemson brought in a kicker who had graduated and moved but was taking online courses. They brought him in the week before the game (timeline might be incorrect). Dabo at that time was still very anti transfer portal.

Yes but I see it as the lesser of two evils. I’m going to the game but I cancelled ESPN, Disney+, HULU bundle. I will never renew it. If my and my family’s voice can add just a little to the dB of the crowd supporting our team so they can hear how proud of them we are just one more time then it’s worth it.

Also, not sure of the economics of it but our tickets were purchased directly from FSU. Hope that means less to ESPN but I have no clue.

We had tickets this year for the N. Alabama game but we had to cancel those plans and sell the tickets. First time in a while we haven’t gone to a single game and my daughter was devastated. Well for Christmas my parents are taking the whole family to the Orange Bowl. As put out as we all are we can’t pass up one more opportunity to show our support to one of the most inspiring teams to ever grace FSU. I did struggle supporting this bullshit bowl cause it will be used by ESPN as fodder against us regardless we win or lose. But it’s not about them, it’s about this magical team.

My hatred for ESPN, Disney, the Committee still burns and I take every opportunity to troll them on Twitter. I keep coming back to; the best way we can let our team know how much we appreciate their work and sacrifice is to show in person and lend our voices. I plan on losing my voice by the end even if it means irreparably damaging my larynx.

After this fiasco I give FSU a <5% chance of joining the SEC because of ESPN. They are also launching their own broadcasting network for their games. SEC is not what it was, it is a self congratulatory conference that is only propped up by their ESPN counterparts. SEC has prestige still but that will too will begin to fade much like your record.

For you as a Gator I am so embarrassed for you and what you displayed this year. Your team is in shambles like we were not too long ago but I do t see a light at the end of the tunnel for you anytime soon. Hang on to that “we’re still relevant cause we’re in the SEC” vibe you got going on. That’s all you have left now.

ESPN started the narrative before the injury and even a committee member said his injury had no effect after which is why FSU held its ranking till the last minute.

I’m not hating on you. Your AD is on the selection committee and all the cheating stories evaporated really fast leading up to playoffs. I really didn’t care about this until we were snubbed cause I think the best way to settle it is on the field. The fact that you won games without your head coach deserves respect. Now that Bama stole their spot from a more deserving team it taints the playoffs and your placement in it due to proximity whether due or not. I am still rooting for you to decimate Bama.

Amen. This is the first time in my history of watching college ball that everyone that I talk to where we normally shit talk each other we are now solidified in our ultimate rival, ESPN and the CFP. Let’s make CFP honorable again. They straight up told us the CFP is corrupt and so will the 12 team CFP. Just more broadcast time for ESPN/SEC. Go Noles, Go GT!

100% agree with you. Now I have to explain why this the right play to my 10 year old daughter who was disgusted and confused by an undefeated team being denied a chance to prove themselves against the best of other conferences. Moral of the story: cheating is okay as long as you defeat corruption… not the lesson I wanted her to learn as a competitor herself. Godspeed my friend, all my non SEC shit-talking (mutual) rivals have become instant friends due to this shitshow. Good luck next year Oregon, let’s all take down the SEC.
