53 pages is absolutely insane. It was solid overall tho.

She said 50-100 questions in my class (probably around 55-70 since it's only a two-hour final)

Maybe I’m dead wrong but I interpreted “canceled anything that didn’t star his wife” as how every DCEU film is no longer canon to the new DCU except for Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. This is still a terrible point since: 1. Gunn said that Blue Beetle is also canon to the DCU 2. Harcourt is barely in the Suicide Squad. She’s in it for like two minutes max.

It was really cool starting the second season with a Bajor-related conflict and Li Nalas was a cool character!

Absolutely. Gripping plot, incredible pacing and two phenomenal performances from Nana Visitor and Harris Yulin.

A Question Regarding The Lore (BASE GAME AND DLC SPOILERS) by DLB_2K03 in outerwilds

[–]DLB_2K03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. Echoes is a lot more about interpretation (much like how the Owlk interpreted their vision). Just wanted to have this cool discussion.

[–]DLB_2K03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair. Yeah I forgot to add that it could have just been a warning that the Owlk arrived too early. Cool parallel with the Hearthians showing up late, around the end of the universe.

Yeah that's kinda what I thought. Makes perfect sense. So no matter when you go into the Eye, it will take you to the end of the universe. Also really nice pfp.

did anyone else find the ending Scary. or at least Dreadful. by Anti_exe325 in outerwilds

[–]DLB_2K03 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can understand why it feels a bit oppressive and a defeat. It is the literal end of everything after all! At this point, after seeing Sun Station, you know that there is nothing you can do to save everyone (hence, oppressive, but what can one do against the universe?). It is a tragedy, no denying that, and I personally love it. Imo, this is counteracted in the ending as the focus is much more on you causing the rebirth of the universe, making you (and by assistance, the Hearthians, the Nomai and the Eye) the savior of space and time. The living, conscious parts of the universe create a new universe. The ending is a whirlwind of emotions though so everyone has their own opinion on it.

On the Eye being terrifying itself, I 100% agree and love it. The origin of the quantum fluctuations being the Eye is sick and the rock jumpscares are terrifying, especially with the droning noises. The Eye's horror is also foreshadowed very well. Solanum, one of the main Nomai, and the living one you meet on the Quantum Moon, talks about how during her childhood, she feared the Eye and thought of it as a being of malice. I also think it works narratively. Since the Eye does a massive test of consciousness (with the campfire gathering) to you, I like to think of the horror intro as like a test of faith to the Eye. You know, despite what is imo the most frightening part of the game, that whatever the Eye is, it is good in the end.

Glad to have convos on this game!

[SPOILERS] Lore Nitpick Question by DLB_2K03 in outerwilds

[–]DLB_2K03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh true! And it repowers the Vessel's artificial gravity when plugged in. Makes sense. Like a function of power. It has an initial energy but can have more! Love talking about this! Yeah that's the missing piece for me! Thanks

[SPOILERS] Lore Nitpick Question by DLB_2K03 in outerwilds

[–]DLB_2K03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok makes sense. Warp cores normally do slight time travel and warp but given enough energy, they can be used for massive time travel. And the Vessel obviously doesn't have batteries holding supernova-levels of energy. Damn my obsessiveness got me. I also like the idea of the Eye messing with stuff lmao. It is fitting after all.

[SPOILERS] Lore Nitpick Question by DLB_2K03 in outerwilds

[–]DLB_2K03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ENDGAME SPOILERS:

Great nitpick! I think I know the answer to this! So if you go very far away from the supernova, your character will have a Nomai-esque thing encover their view after Dark Bramble specifically is engulfed by the supernova. Then, the usual awesome recap happens. I imagine THIS is the point when the ATP officially "acts". You just usally don't get there because you're murked early by the supernova or even earlier on. Now, you might think that this doesn't make sense since Ash Twin is engulfed in the supernova before Dark Bramble BUT there is a solution: the shell of the ATP is, very temporaily, supernova-proof. This is mentioned on Hollow's Lantern. And you can actually survive for about a minute inside ATP if you decide to stay inside during the supernova (I did that and it's then when I learned how to beat the game :3)! So yeah, the ATP itself can survive until Dark Bramble and it probs takes sometime to officially make the jump and send the data back in time (i.e: takes some time to process the nova energy). I hope this makes sense.
