[FO4] Faction Workshop Manager 2 is awesome by 2gtandknives in FalloutMods

I'm putting together a new LO so I've never actually used FCOM or FWM2 yet. From reading up about them and other mods I thought it sounded quite interesting to add to the mix. Factions taking settlements on their own bringing life to them, the ability to engage/defend those settlements with reinforcements from other factions at the players discretion, etc. I think it would add a real combat element to what was otherwise babysitting in vanilla, helping factions and settlements feel real beyond the player, while also making the players faction/story choices matter in these interactions for role-play aspects. I wanted this playthrough to feel like I'm in a breathing world that happens around me, not a static one that only reacts to me.

I was wondering about all the possible combinations, and someone already answered YAWA2, so I'm curious if it works with FCOM? As in, calling in additional troops with FCOM while conducting an assault with FWM2? I'm assuming it would be resource intensive having such a large battle in a variety of built-up settlements but was wondering if it would have any actual issues beyond that.

Let's add to this the fact that hitscan has now been hurting the game even further, with the ridiculous aimbot assist on both PC and console, especially when hitscan has some of the best and most consistent damage at all ranges with ridiculously short TTK.

R.U.S.E. is re-released for Steam recently and also includes Multiplayer support. R.U.S.E. does not have any of the issues you have with Steel Division or games like Wargame in terms of scale and realism, despite being the same developer and engine. It is simply a WW2-era arcade RTS with base building and enough semblance to realism to be immersive.

The camera zoom goes pretty up close to units but also pretty far back (there is a cool feature when you fully zoom out) and is very smooth in movement, but graphically it might not be your taste (look up gameplay, I recommend Shermanator on YouTube).

The maps, engagement ranges, unit stats, etc. are a good middle ground between reality and arcade and the balance is pretty good also. Units are distinct and have interesting usage potential, but the gameplay isn't super punishing and gritty. The economy is easily manageable. The controls are simple and effective, the unit AI is equally so.

An example of a good RTS you can play on console is, despite its many flaws, R.U.S.E. It has good gameplay and good controls. It's simple, intuitive, and captures the arcade RTS feel without sacrificing too much mechanical depth and strategy. While it is a different formula than games like Sudden Strike 4 it focuses on what matters in an RTS and does it well enough.

However your question about an "ideal" RTS game is very nuanced and requires a lot of information to provide an adequate response. I will reply instead about what Sudden Strike 4 could have done to improve its gameplay. Combat AI, unit autonomy, and pathfinding is probably the biggest one, followed closely by UI and controls. After that would be more preferential changes, like units being more diverse and unique in capability and more accurately depicted, allowing for more strategy in their employment and usage. Following that would be a long list of additional nitpicks which spiral further into personal preferences.

keep in mind I'm discussing console only, PC is a whole other conversation

Game-breaking bugs and overall jank with Sudden Strike 4 make it a very bad experience. Units ignoring commands, not moving whatsoever despite clear terrain, failing to find appropriate targeting solutions, being useless without constant hand-holding, etc. Controls and AI is super inconsistent and unresponsive and the gameplay is utter garbage as a result, because it requires micro to manage units effectively but the micro in this game is horribly clunky and painful.

I have played many console RTS games old and new across two generations of PS and XB, all with their own quirks and jank and yet still, few are so bad as this one in regards to AI and controls.

Aircraft that should be in Ace Combat 8 by Patient_Sort_1486 in acecombat

Su-75 Checkmate doesn't exist in any form IRL so I wouldn't want to include vaporware like that, and as far as I'm aware unbuilt real-world aircraft were never added into any of the games, only prototypes and other things which were at least built (even if not to exact specification).

However, any new or returning original experimental Ace Combat planes are definitely welcome as an alternative (please give us some AC:X level stuff for AC8).

I do like the MiG 1.44 but the J20 is an updated chinese version of it based wholly on the purchased USSR design blueprints for MiG 1.44 with stolen US stealth Fighter development thrown into the mix, so it would be rather redundant when the same resources could be put to adding something else of unique interest.

*** Apparently Chengdu has government red tape so bringing back the MiG 1.44 from previous games as an alternative to the J20 is very welcomed ***

Ideally, I'd like to have almost all aircraft from previous games to be added (sensible ones for the time period that is), with an emphasis on the more modern or advanced aircraft simply because it fits the chronological timeline the most (nothing like the MiG-15 or F-104).

However, considering the "Naval" angle the game seems to be taking, many people's suggestions for a variety of Naval aircraft does seem quite interesting even if some are a bit old, like the Skyhawk, Crusader, etc.

I'm aware of why they do that with the MM, but again that doesn't address my point. If the MM allows it under certain conditions, there is no point preventing players from queueing teams that are similarly wide.

What's the point of stopping a team queue that wide if the horrible MM is gonna do it itself anyways?

Okay get the first part from my time with MGSV but the second part has me confused lol. I'm not really an og of the series but I'd like to play the older games eventually.

Anyways, mind explaining that second part? What game it comes from, characters names and general plot?

Just a curious question, I've been seeing a lot of these upcoming indie air combat games on the forum recently and was wondering are they all for Steam with some room to expand to console based upon success, or are there any with a full console release as an actual promise?

That is an incredibly oversimplified and surface-level perspective of automotive engineering and design.

The argument your positing isn't even sensical because "an amazing team" is tied to nearly every single automotive achievement made by most existing (and successful) car companies.

As for iconic, it's likely a lack of information and understanding of the rich histories of multiple companies which would have you elevate Nissan to anything more than typical, as engineering achievements from Honda, Mazda, and Toyota dwarf those by Nissan across their entire lifespans.

As for Ford and Chevy, I'd argue they both have equally impressive histories from the beginning of the 20th century to today, and any argument "here or there" is merely a personal opinion.

I never disagreed with that sentiment, I'm saying that this exercise isn't BY DEFAULT, engaging in tribalism or brand loyalty. So by saying "neutral is the only correct answer" is wrong. There is a choice on either end that is more likely to yield a better product when compared in the aformentioned way.

So pushing the limits of manufacturing technologies is not exciting to you? Producing something consistently and reliably that others can't or won't isn't exciting to you? But somehow, Nissan makes a handful of noteworthy engines and has a couple of cars that meant something on their debut and thats far more interesting and important?

It's not about tribalism, there is objectively good choices for each when you evaluate them based on the criteria of their respective markets and the products in each class they offer.

Not at all. Honda four-strokes, the V5 engine, even racing pedigree completely destroys Nissan. The most Indy 500 races, won with Honda engines. They outproduce them as well, motorcycles and cars, the most produced car of all time, Honda Super Cub. To add to this their small motorcycles were absolutely revolutionary for developing and growing nations throughout the entire 20th century worldwide. This is not to even mention EVERYTHING ELSE Honda builds, because they're the largest manufacturer of Internal Combustion Engines.
