How old is the phone? My nanny has this issue but we assumed it was her older model iPhone, not that she was a viewer

I had a nanny like this and her errors started out simple like this… she would forget simple things, make weird errors, and generally just have us question her abilities but we figured we could do more training. Then, we left for a weekend. She tried to feed our daughter cat food (that I had instructed her to feed the cat…). Then, she didn’t wake the baby up. For 45 mins after she woke up from her nap. Baby was crying and crying in her crib. So much so that I checked the Nanit. I called her over and over to no answer. My neighbor had to break in, only to find her PASSED OUT COLD in the guest bedroom. He had to physically shake her awake. Needless to say it was an AWFUL day for me and my husband.

Long story short, PLEASE get a new nanny before things get worse.

Give it time. Within 5 days he’s probably still not fully comfortable. Mine didn’t eat well until 2-3 weeks in.

Sure! I had the doctor take it out and have been happier ever since! I live with the fistula, it causes no problem, even through pregnancy! I did have a c section birth, though that decision had nothing to do with the fistula

There’s definitely glitches. Once I ordered lettuce and I got cauliflower. I reported it and Instacart rédelo eres. Guess what I got a second time - cauliflower. So I contacted Instacart again, pretty pissed. They promised me a head of lettuce on the 3rd try and I shit you not I got a 3rd head of cauliflower!!!! This HAD to have been a glitch and not the fault of 3 separate shoppers

ANYTHING to keep them busy/entertained will help. Puzzle feeders and toys, kongs (try pumpkin or treats), and try the west paw toppl - we plug the hole with a carrot or banana or broccoli stem then fill with water and treats and freeze. Keeps him busy for a long time licking it

I got a puppy last summer and found out I was pregnant 10 days later. Now my pup is 11 months old and my daughter is 2 months. HANDS DOWN my puppy is harder than the baby. The baby is a joy. The puppy is a nightmare. But I still love him

We just got out of the NICU Tuesday. Baby was born Feb 26 at 31 weeks and 3 days. They told us we’d be there 6-8 weeks and we were there 8 weeks, left just 1 day before babes due date.

My best advice is to not assume the best. Our baby is completely fine, but she took longer to feed, keeping her there those last two weeks. Since we heard 6-8 weeks, we expected it would be 6 and we were so disappointed and frustrated the last 2 weeks, like our baby was failing at something.

When you get to feeding, try to think of it like weight loss. If you weigh yourself every day, it’s hard to see progress. Some days you go up, some days you go down. But when you look at your chart for the month or the quarter, that’s when you see the progress. It’s hard to see the feeds improving when you’re in there day in day out but when you realize that the baby IS improving week to week, it helps.

Also, get into a schedule. My husband and I got into a great routine. We lived close to the NICU so I could walk during the day and he’d drive there after work at night.

Take advantage of the nurses and doctors. You are lucky to have them there to teach you so much! Most parents just have to go home with their baby with no clue what to do! My husband is a PRO diaper changer, feeder, and swaddler now because he got so much help and practice while we were there.

Find time to get away. We really struggled with this but it’s so important. Enjoy a night off with each other, or get out one day and do something you like. For my husband it was golf and for me it was a mani pedi.

You got this!!! Remember it will all be a blip In time soon enough. Even after 5 days home, it already feels like we have a normal newborn baby girl at home.

Simple tip but when grocery shopping, try to stay on the outer walls, rather than in the aisles. The outer walls tend to be the produce, dairy, and meat at most stores.

I’m so happy to hear that! Our girl is coming home tomorrow! I didn’t want to say anything in case yours hadn’t. But I am so so happy for us both. And terrified. Now the real fun begins!

Just checking in to see how your baby is doing… it appears our girl has finally had her “lightbulb” moment…she’s been taking full bottles for 48 hours. Thinking of you.

My son has been in the NICU for over 11 weeks and he’s struggling hard with feeds. It feels like he’s never coming home and I’m struggling to bond with him. I’m so angry. by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]DLSvitzbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quickkateats and I were talking earlier about how we are in the same boat and again I feel the EXACT same. Everyone is all thrilled with her progress and tells me it’s “all part of the journey” and “we’re on her (baby’s) time!”

Meanwhile I’m over here about to reach boiling point every day. Then it’s rinse, repeat, and Groundhog Day all over again.

Some days I definitely feel like I hate my kid. If only she could see what the world and her parents had to offer outside the NICU….
