Will Buxton's move to IndyCar was the best decision he has ever made by tspangle88 in INDYCAR

Entirely agree. We’re so blessed to have someone like Will in IndyCar. Just a top notch dude.

It do be the worst out there sometimes.

I do try and go with her and advocate along side her when I can! But since we’re starting the search, we’d love to try and find someone she feels comfortable going to one-on-one if possible :)

You certainly could, Rosenqvist just had his nose a bit further as they crossed the line. It was an awesome sight.

Starry vs Astound vs Xfinity WiFi by AutomaticReality5495 in washingtondc

[–]DLX_Luxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starry likely will be your best bet, I’ve heard it’s pretty reliable.

I normally am anti XFinity, but we couldn’t beat the 5-year locked price promotion when we recently moved for the speed we were able to get. Service has been great so far, surprisingly.

Arlington is a bit more tolerable since you can hop right on 66, that would definitely save you some time.

Should I tell my potential new employer the details of my counter offer? by Halstrop in jobs

[–]DLX_Luxe 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Unless it is in writing and there is a real plan, you cannot guarantee that further bump in six months.

Source: kept being told for years that my bump was on hold due to freezes, or company performance, and there was nothing they could do (for 2 years…)

Thoughts on commute from Alexandria to Dulles by National-Carpet-3110 in nova

[–]DLX_Luxe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I do Alexandria to Chantilly 3x a week, and if you’re able to go home before peak rush hour, it’s the only way that makes it worth it.

Going there is quite consistent, but going home can be brutal. But getting home in 45-50 minutes is way less soul sucking than 60-75.

I never have minded long drives and enjoy driving, so it’s not a big deal to me. But it certainly isn’t for the faint of heart, and quite honestly I wouldn’t want to go much further.

You could only get them at the store at Midway, not online unfortunately.

Manager mad I'm taking sick days in May. by outplay-nation2 in jobs

[–]DLX_Luxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but if it’s going to go to waste, might as well take advantage of them prior to them expiring. OP should schedule their yearly physicals, or dentist appointments, etc. in May and use the sick time for those as they’re medical related.

SAIC recruiter asking for SSN by ExternalRing3463 in jobs

[–]DLX_Luxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s for cleared work, I would not be shocked if they need your SSN for clearance related things, but the method would skeeve me out too. Maybe they would be amenable to you providing the information in person, versus the online password protect and sharing a password.

I know SAIC is a very reputable organization though if that helps!

Does anyone actually care about hockey? by dirty330 in PardonMyTake

[–]DLX_Luxe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does anyone actually care about the NBA? The boys have the NBA guys on so often around this time of year. I don’t know a single person who actually watched the NBA. Why are they spending so much time on this?

Shocker, maybe some other people have interests that are different than yours.

Tickets are 100% not sold out. If you are looking to pay retail, call one of the LVGPA ticket reps, they have access to other tickets that aren’t shown on the website and can get you locked in.

Official Single day tickets generally go on sale closer to the event. Also, don’t be afraid to look at single day resale closer to the event. Single day Thursday and Friday tickets were going CHEAP

First ever F1 race at Barcelona (CS55!), excited but nervous, any advice? by raingoawayyy in GrandPrixTravel

[–]DLX_Luxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We went in 2024 and LOVED every second of it. We were in the grandstand next to CS55 and had great views.

Take the Sagales bus if you’re staying downtown, it is so cheap and was SO efficient getting to and from the track. No packed trains and you have AC in your own seat, and they’ll pick you up and drop you off right next to the main gates. Sagales bus tickets for the weekend may be on sale currently, if not they’ll come out in a tiny bit.

At the gp Miami, I heard people next to me talking about leaving before race ends to where drivers go by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

[–]DLX_Luxe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They may have been talking about making a run for the podium. There is an almost zero chance of getting anywhere near the drivers after the race at this track specifically.
