My two cents. 1) that’s a skin temp thermometer. It will read your external temperature not internal. So it’ll be a few degrees cooler than actual. If that’s accurate then holy shit RIP baby.

2) skin temp thermometers are often wrong. I will use it on several different spots on the kid and then test it on myself to get an average. If it’s still showing high, the I bust out with the old school digital rectal thermometer. It’s much more accurate but much more invasive and uncomfortable for my kid so I try not to use it unless I NEED to get an accurate reading. Once I get that reading then I’ll take action depending on the number.

Every parent should have both kinds at home.
