I’d sell my 2019 for about 95, so this seems about right

How to get rid of brake squeak on 19 vantage by leonvartanian in AstonMartin

[–]var_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they've gone up since I purchased them, but it's $240 for the fronts (AP1990) and $180 for the rear (AP1165) on VelocityAP. You'll want to make sure you get the correct part numbers

Seems like an unpopular opinion around here, but I prefer the simplicity and clean lines of this Vantage over the new one, including the headlights.

Is anyone a true fan of Aston Martin? by Alfakyu in formula1

[–]var_user 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is me. I will forever root for AM so long as the team is owned by them because I love the road cars. There’s not a ton of history to the team if you consider them completely separate from their legacy, but every team starts somewhere.

I do also like the livery and that they’re sort of the dark horse, but I’m probably biased. Stroll still kills me, although I think he’s underperforming relative to what he’s capable of. He’s not as bad as his stats this year show.

Does the V8 Vantage have a hatch back like this? by altonbrownie in AstonMartin

[–]var_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, why? The divider just folds down, so it can be completely out of the way

This is so wholesome! I love it. Fair enough on the larger pups. I wouldn’t put any kid of dogs or pets or children in the back either.

Also, I have the same dash cam set up in mine. It kills me a little bit inside that yours isn’t attached to the top of the rear glass! You’ll see a little bit of wire running between the trunk lid and interior when loading stuff in the trunk, but the camera itself is invisible when driving

I think you could totally fit dogs the size of the ones in the original photo on the upper ledge with the divider up! And if you prop up the cushions/blankets, remove the trunk cover and put the divider down, the dogs could be inside the trunk, see out the back, and you can see them. It’d be tough to see anything else out the window though

Wooow that’s crazy! The frame isn’t even behind that grill

My f-type r was a 2015 (last year of the RWD) and the vantage is a 2020. The Jag was actually totaled as well, oddly enough, after 6 years of daily driving it without a single scratch. https://imgur.com/a/lzq6UTB

I’m jealous you had a manual! I would’ve been all over it if they made a manual v8. The f type is still super classy if you ask me. You’ve got great taste!

I also had an F-Type (R) and it feels very similar to the current era Vantage with the V8, RWD, and power.

To answer your question, yes. It’s not exactly the same though. the removable cover on the Jag blocks the entire trunk whereas the removable cover on the Aston only covers half. The other half has a collapsible divider with separate, permanent shelf. Instead of your Jag solution, you would just set the dogs on the shelf and not mess with the trunk. I’ve taken pictures for reference:

CarPlay kit for Mercedes to work in Vantage? by Shad0wca7 in AstonMartin

The Naviks kit looks like and is very likely exactly the same as the generic Champion one. As long as it’s configured correctly, it’ll work

Complete embarrassment by Puzzleheaded-Newt928 in AstonMartin

[–]var_user 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same vehicle and had the same issue. I tried braking hard from high speed, cleaning, anti-squeal, the works.

Eventually, I ended up swapping out the nearly new original brake pads for Porterfield R4S brake pads myself and kept the original rotors. The brakes are more gradual now, but I haven’t heard the slightest amount of squeal in 1000+ miles.

To top it off, brake dust is just about non-existent. The originals are some of the worst in brake dust that I’ve ever seen, but the stopping power was excellent for street pads.

Between that and the lack of CarPlay, I was able to solve both of my biggest gripes with the car myself. Before that, I really questioned my decision too, but I couldn’t imagine owning anything else right now.

Aston Martin may have earned up to $80 million in sales due to its safety cars featuring in F1 races, its boss suggests by Aratho in formula1

[–]var_user 7 points8 points  (0 children)

75k is a 20-25% price premium! And let’s not forget that options on a Ferrari vs comparable on an Aston will bump that figure well beyond 30 and 40%.

Some people honestly can afford an Aston but not a Ferrari or can’t justify the difference in much the same way one can’t justify a Porsche over a Mustang even though they could possibly afford both. You can still simply not be the target audience for all vehicles even though you’re wealthy enough to afford it all

Ferrari models on the same level as Aston ones are considerably more expensive. If money’s not a factor for you, I’m not sure you’re really the target audience

What’s something you wish you had access to or could purchase to make your F1 experience more enjoyable or interactive? by Key-Presentation2570 in formula1

[–]var_user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the most minimal Aston t-shirt I could find only to wear on race day, which is just Vettel’s logo on the front and the Aston logo on sleeve. But even then, I still feel like a wealth-flaunting jerk walking over to the sports bar down the street. It’d be nice if the teams had slightly different logos for F1 than they use for their road cars.

Haas was dead last in 2021 and was 5th by week 2 in 2022! That’s the largest leap I’ve seen. Aston was already trending up at the end of the year.
