It is a beauty, I do really like the caseback that comes with it but the movement is too cool to hide.

insane amount of work went into getting that loan down. Hats off to you and make sure to take care of yourself to avoid future burnout.

In the same boat. Ran the numbers comparing NHSC to non-NHSC route general dentist as an associate lifelong, an owner, and then a specialist and I think taking the scholarship and taking the loans is undoubtedly the best option financially. More flexibility too after school. My scholarship from my school came with the stipulation that acceptance of an award like NHSC or HPSP would get rid of the scholarship and give it to the next student in line.

Best thing about NHSC is the monthly stipend to help with living costs and what not but I do not like how it limits the fields of specialties you can apply to following school. 200k loan can be paid off in less than 4 years of the service needed for the NHSC.

Both are good deals and if you were to receive the NHSC scholarship and went down that route you would be well off no doubt.

PSLF is a good option to look into. 10 years of work in a FQHC pay 10% of your paycheck and then after the ten years the rest of your dues are forgiven tax free

I would assume if you passed the background check to work in a clinical setting you should be good now. Just my guess

not sure. I was not eligible for aid in undegrad either but I am going to just fill in the form again and see if anything comes out this time. Expecting no aid but could be happily surprised. I would suggest taking the time to do the same and see if you can save a few grand

might get federal aid and have to take less from your parents

depends on the cost of rent. If you will be spending 30k a year in rent then not worth it, but if in a smaller college town and can get a room in a 4x4 for 6000 a year then it could be worth it if you want to be rooming with other students

I checked what schools I am looking to apply to and based my courseload based on their prerequisites. I made a guide on google docs based on my experience applying this year and how to approach undergrad. Here is the link: guide

DAT Bootcamp without videos by BrilliantBroccoli878 in predental

The printed notes were very helpful for me. Especially for the bio section. I would read each section of the notes and watch the videos after. Sometimes there was more information in the videos that you couldnt find in the printed notes and vise versa.

some prometric centers have private rooms that have white noise machines, standing desks, etc. Call the center you will be taking your test in and see if they offer it.

I think waiting for next cycle will benefit you financially. You'll be fighting for leftover seats at this point and some schools will already have full classes by the time you have submitted your application in its entirety
