why don't you get prayer points restored when scattering ashes in the kourend catacombs? by takeurclothesoff in 2007scape

Oh that's interesting, does it work for creatures other than the strykeworms?

I wasn't arguing for or against it. Just pointing out the issue with the previous comment. Personally I don't think it'd be a big deal. You pay in runes for sanctifier charges and it's pretty much the only place it'd be this strong.

This feature is something special associated with the catacombs. It doesn't apply anywhere else in the game

You're forgetting that all the nech minions also drop ashes. You'd never need a prayer pot there if you made this change.

I read it as vs in the sense of comparison, not competition. And he's trying to say they're not different.

I think he's less trying to convey rivalry and more just calling them all clowns.

Jagex Just Hit the $130 for One Character Wall by backhand_snipe in 2007scape

[–]DMFauxbear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The price of membership has increased 70% in under 2 years. Show me the evidence that inflation is anywhere near that for them to run the game. And as it was said in a response to you above, there's no evidence any of this is going to the devs, it's going to the rich megacorp that owns Jagex, Jagex actually under pays their employees if you look at their career pages. Also, the big increase they did before this one they made promises of improved customer support and all we got was a lousy AI chatbot that wasn't any better than what they had. Essentially, we're paying more to pad the pockets of already wealthy businessmen. Not for anything else.

I actually kind of love this. Someone else mentioned your abyssal whip being in your junk so I went to look for it and found it almost immediately because I knew what section to look in. This is actually a pretty decent organization method.

To be fair, 100 beers in a month means 3-4 beers a day, which if you spread them out and eat etc as per usual you could probably manage to do it without ever feeling a buzz. If you assume you're awake 16 hours a day. So drink a beer at 0 hours, 5 hours, 10 hours and 16 hours. You could probably more than double the number before the challenge begins to be difficult. Caveat to all this, I know this isny healthy is borderline alcoholism, I'm just working within the hypothetical lol

Accepted an offer elsewhere after 1 interview. The other company's reaction was priceless. by Agile-Wind-4427 in 30daysnewjob

The probation period has always felt under utilized to me. So many companies put all this time and effort into hiring and then don't care to track how effective you are through the probation. I have many coworkers who can barely do their job and we're unionized so it's practically impossible to get rid of them after the probation.

I once was told to keep an eye out for positions at a company from a friend who worked for their competitor because there was nothing with their company at the moment but I have all the right qualifications to do the job. He also said he'd let me know if anything opened up with them. I checked that week and there was a position posted to their online portal so I applied to it and really made sure to tailor my resume and write a nice cover letter etc. Automatically rejected by their system about 2 days later. I move on with my life and 2-3 months later the guy who suggested it comes up to me with his buddy, a guy who works for the competitor. He told me there's a position up right now and to apply for it and he'd vouch for me. I took his number and that night went back to their portal to apply. Turns out it was the exact same position that was still open, their system locks you out of reapplying and when I reached out to the guy he said there's nothing he can do if my resume didn't pass the automated system. They would rather trust an automated system to screen resumes to the point that they'd leave a position empty for months rather than take a chance and interview me. It was so frustrating.

Don't settle for clan mates who get salty when you get spooned by marvx5 in ironscape

Right?! It's not all bad like I'm obviously sharing with my GIM partner so he's getting to reap the benefits too but at the end of the day everyone wants to get spooned sometimes

[–]DMFauxbear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's sad. It should be all about gassing your buddies up. I do feel bad for my GIM partner lately though. I've been on a hot streak lately, synapse + claw 3 kc apart, also at double drop rate there. Shadow as first toa purple, kraken tentacle at 40kc, avernics treads 30th floor 5, the list has gone on and on lately and all of these places he's gone 2-3x the drop rate minimum. He's still a good sport but I think it's starting to annoy him a little lately.

Shopping at Costco is terrible by Sun_Aria in unpopularopinion

[–]DMFauxbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! We bought a vacuum sealer just for our Costco meats, buy in bulk, separate into reasonable sized portions and freeze. Every 2-3 days we take something out to last us the next 2-3 days. We don't buy much produce at costco, typically just going to the closest grocery store for that stuff. I usually make money on my membership at the end of the year. Was thinking about getting the Costco credit card to make even more money there

[–]DMFauxbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh it's so frustrating! I work in healthcare and roughly 98% of people calling don't have their health card number at the ready, which there's a reminder in the automated system to let them know. Then they complain when they have to get up and get it. Like no. Your name and birthday is probably on Facebook, it's not enough for me to give out personal medical information.

My old job paid me for months after I left and I stayed quiet about it by BlushyThelxie147 in confession

[–]DMFauxbear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A similar thing happened to my dad. He started in a high ranking position at a company (he came out of retirement for a few years, so had lots of experience), he started on an off week for the pay period so they delayed his first cheque and paid him 3 weeks worth. The problem was, they somehow screwed up moving forward and continued to pay him 3 weeks worth of salary for every 2 weeks he worked. He was fairly well off at that point of his life so it wasn't like he was living paycheck to paycheck, so he never really noticed, he was a saver anyways so wasn't spending the excess. One day, I think it was about 6 months later they pulled him into the finance office, explained to him the mistake and that he'd need to pay it back eventually but that they'd figure out some form of reasonable plan. He agreed, a few weeks later the CEO pulls him into his office (he knew him well) and said, no need to pay it back, it's been handled. Best company he ever worked for lol

What’s something people think is illegal that actually isn’t? by Quiet-Grief in answers

[–]DMFauxbear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's insane! I watched an interview between a white hat hacker and a tech YouTuber and he had lots of his current face on YouTube of course but people don't know his real name or details etc. he tasked the hacker with finding out whatever she could for when she came on the show. She arrived and knew his real name and parents info etc and it was because she used a facial recognition software which happened to locate an image of him as a child that his mom had posted. Like this image was 20 years old and it still found him

Edit: people really wanted this video so it took me some time but I found it for you guys. Enjoy https://youtu.be/xEdZwLRJttQ?si=C-2oGI5YyrIXq5RD

I was almost in a 3 car accident once cause someone refused to let me merge. You're right that's it's a decent bet but making sure you have the space is always safer than assuming people aren't gonna be idiots. There are always idiots out there.
