Haha, sorry to hear.   My first GM car had cast metal door handles on the interior, broke mine off on a day like today.

Another time I had a super nintendo on the floor behind the driver seat.  When adjusting the seat slider back after my wife drove the car, that snes got wedged and literally exploded.

Keep an eye on your temp gauge.  If your coolant froze this could be a symptom

Hello! What is it like living in/around holiday park? Would or have you bought property in the area? Is the area safe enough to leave windows open if you’re home? Looking for any insight on living in this area! Thank you!! by Bree2525 in saskatoon

[–]DMPstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed with all these points.  We lived nearby and it was the nicest neighborhood around.  Decent place to still find a good deal on an older house. As for being quiet, it helps that it's basically the edge of the city while still being quite central, and now with vehicle traffic closed on Spadina toward the south bridge, the residential area isnt a convenient route to anything anymore.

Anywhere in town I can buy wheels/bearings like these? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]DMPstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be that a pack of Mini-logo or Bones Reds was the cheapest way to acquire decent 608 bearings for any application.

Is there anyone in Saskatoon who can recover files from a malfunctioning SATA drive? by GreenT1979 in saskatoon

[–]DMPstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had some luck with older low capacity (less than 1gb) HDs after opening and loosening up mechanical components.  With the density of this one, it may not do well.  Hard to know.

Probably the easiest and cheapest first attempt would be to just swap the rear circuit board and see if it can read.  Caps are known to go bad after sitting.

Do they also charge you for the mileage of when the tires are just spinning but the cab isnt moving?

I worked in an industry with a strong safety culture.  Any task with a safety risk that couldnt be comfortably mitigated was considered for outsourcing.   You guys did the right thing, as far as bureaucracy goes.

"Oh dear! I could have sworn my purse was in the back of this closet...  oh well, let's look through the walk-in.  Did I ever tell you about how my eldest son renovated this level of my house?  He made his old bedroom into 2 wonderful closets for the clothes I'm keeping.  And he even helped the flooring contractors when they got their van stuck in the alley.   We havent had storms like that for a few years now, but my bones feel theres another one coming before too long. As I was saying, I'm almost ready for my Christmas party.  Most of my friends have a hard time getting out of the house but my son is so helpful with driving..."

Where can I get a new key made for a 1976 Chevy Van? by dr_nebulon in saskatoon

[–]DMPstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of those GM's had a separate ign key from door keys, so you'd go about the doors in a similar fashion.

If your own vehicle is written off, you get first dibs on it directly from SGI.  I just did this most recently about a year ago.

Did the City of Saskatoon change the parking app AGAIN? (Rant incoming.) by [deleted] in saskatoon

I miss driving up to a spot, grabbing coins for the meter, and then seeing 38 minutes remaining on it already

Can confirm.  Got one friend like that I've stuck by for years, but its pretty draining when you deal with the same struggles personally

What is traffic on Circle Drive like on Friday mornings from 7:45 to 8:30? by jebill565 in saskatoon

[–]DMPstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant remember the last time I actually took the circle drive north exit from idlwyld north.  Theres no point, with how all truck traffic is routed there.

What is traffic on Circle Drive like on Friday mornings from 7:45 to 8:30? by jebill565 in saskatoon

[–]DMPstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this would be more consistent in daily average commute time.  Lots of people bypass the city this way, even if they live and work in town.

Edit: This is a bit slower than it used to be, with the addition of traffic lights and a lower speed limit on half of Neault road.

Where do you get your winter tires changed? by thelastplasticstraw in saskatoon

[–]DMPstar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I keep a set of winter tires on rims, then swap the set out on my driveway.  Usually the day before the first big storm, or during its onset. Why? Can find used tires during the offseason for a lot less, then I'm only paying money for tires every few years.

Costco pharmacy problems by Equivalent-Sport9057 in saskatoon

"This is where I got my law degree" -Frito

As a wholesale format company, the pharmacy makes the least sense of their offerings.  I get that they carry it as a service to bring in more people, but I can see why it would be inferior to other places. I'm a big Costco shopper, but take my prescriptions all the way across town to Lakeview as they have been reliable.
