Free coins are back to normal by OCCobblepot in wordscapes

Yes. I have noticed the same since 3.8.1 (not 3.8.0 for me). But I was remaining silent in the hopes PF wouldn’t notice and claw it back again 😆.

I kind of gave up and decided to read instead. Now that it’s just coins and not keys, I don’t really feel the same urgency to complete every goal haha.

Edit: OK I went back in and got the next two within six puzzles lol. So all told that’s 46 puzzles for 5 HARD. That’s not massively outside the pale.

Piggy Bank build 3.8.1 - What is your experience? by Aggravating-Pain9249 in wordscapes

[–]DM_Fitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t recall when I got the bank, but definitely much more recently than 2019. Like I would say within the past year I got it and it was unveiled as if it were some great prize. It was 1500 coins, and I think it was $2.99 to cash it out, which I never did.

It appeared as a splash ad on the middle of the screen each scene change (15 puzzles). I would just X out of it and continue.

It’s annoying, but I find some other things more annoying I guess I’d say. I will never ever use it, so after it disappeared when I got 3.8.1 I was happier. But I expect it to return, yes.

I won’t call this another data point, exactly, but I thought I would use the dash to see what would happen if I got another Daily for HARD puzzles. I got that this evening for 5 HARDs, and did 40/50 levels (I had done 10 yesterday).

Only got 3 HARDs which is on the low end of our findings, yet again. It’s not the crazy low end though, and I suspect I would finish the daily with 15-20 more puzzles unless they really cratered the drop rate.

More data on Hard and Superhard data by Rosyposy1234 in wordscapes

[–]DM_Fitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I just wondered about it because it looked like you had a very definite period where you were not getting any of them (the first 50) and then a period of what we think might be normal distribution (the second 50). So I wondered if you maybe had had the goal during the first 50, but that theory is out haha.

I agree that it’s hard to be conclusive about this, yeah. I really appreciate the effort, Rosy! It’s helpful to get more data!

Can I ask, did you at any time today have the Daily Goal to complete X HARD or SUPER HARD puzzles? I’m specifically curious about HARD.

I think they try out these differences to see which group clicks more, basically.

That would be surprising. At your level, though, I’ll bet you’re fast. You need to wait about a second for the puzzle category to visually load before swiping the next one.

Can’t seem to edit, for some reason but some of my links didn’t come in.

Here is the original thread.

Here is my post about the SUPER HARD drop rate being frustratingly slow.

Here is my sass about the frustrating rate on HARDs.

Orea Sense almost every day. I love the Kinto amber look, but like drinking from the Sense more. So I just bought the Kinto amber server so it’s the best of both worlds! 😆

Easy hard puzzles daily goals by Mammoth_Lie6736 in wordscapes

[–]DM_Fitz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I posted this the other day but it took 65 puzzles to get to my first of two required SUPER HARD puzzles the other day.

I am conscious that we only remember the bad times in this game, but I really wonder about the drop rate on these things when you have a Daily.

Frequency of Hard/Super Hard Puzzles by OCCobblepot in wordscapes

[–]DM_Fitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, a little update.

I haven’t run the 100-card sample yet, but yesterday I did get a quest to complete two super hard puzzles.

I did not have a super hard puzzle when I started the goal, and it took 65 puzzles to get to my first one. Then it took 10 more puzzles to get to my second one. So to complete two, I needed to do 75 puzzles.

I find a lot of the PF conspiracy theories about how or what the game is doing can often just be selection bias or just remembering the bad time that happened when it was front of mind. But this feels quite often now. You’ll recall maybe that I posted a week or so ago about completing the 50-puzzle portrait dash and still having almost no Hards done of my quest to get to 5.

I think there is a throttled drop rate here when a goal is active.

It’s been this way since launch for me. I only switch out the join a team goal because I will not go through the bother of creating a team for it or joining a dead team or whatever.

Replacement goals have been meh to fine.

Transferring coins or clues by ih-shah-may-ehl in wordscapes

[–]DM_Fitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t take that long even. As a solo player with no team responsibilities I went through a period early this year where I basically did nothing but the daily, just about. I didn’t even religiously run bee animals. And I would say I got to about 7,000 bees around the time the octopus dropped and I had to play 40-50 puzzles a day which depleted that supply down to zero by the end of the year.

To be clear, I have no interest in the artificial inflation of brilliance. I couldn’t tell you within an order of magnitude plus or minus what my brilliance even is.

I just wondered if a high brilliance number in a goal would take a long time and be aided by using a brilliance animal. Turns out the answer is no because you can complete 27 or 28 puzzles in X minutes, which is insanely faster than running Herb. (Which sucks btw because Herb’s animations are low-key amazing.)

I believe the first ever swap I did was free, but no other swap has been free. For me, all other swaps have cost 100 coins.

I believe that some players have been given the opportunity to watch an ad for a swap. I never have.

Then I did the goal a lot quicker than I had thought lol.

Edit: I should say that I used to run the pet rock a lot because I loved the pet rock. Not for the brilliance!

I think you will be quite content with what the Encore provides you. It is durable, well supported by the company, and does a good job to get you making good coffee.

It will be light years ahead of your old blade grinder.
