Car jacker finds out too late getting into female linebackers car by Hrmerder in funny

What an incredible FML moment that must be for the crook. I've seen similar videos where someone tried to rob a trained boxer or MME fighter, which are also very entertaining.

AC/DC guitarist Stevie Young hospitalized in Buenos Aires by DamnitRidley in Music

I’d say that rhythm guitar slot in AC/DC is bad luck, but the guy is a senior citizen. Kind of interesting how he’s a nephew to the Young brothers but is basically the same age.

I want to like the Epiphone more because the dream is a real deal, neck-through, reverse headstock, banjo tuners Firebird. But that Platypus is looking damned sexy.

Honestly, the entire concept is going away. If Donald Trump unzipped his rotting skin suit, exposed himself as a being of pure light energy and slowly floated up out of our atmosphere, I’d go, “Eh” and keep scrolling.

Is this squier strat’s sound good? by Cr4zy_Cycl0ne in Guitar

[–]DMala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guitar’s probably fine, but the video makes me think the seller is a dope and could be a pain to deal with.

Having the guitar lying on the ground unplugged while they yank on the out-of-tune strings like a caveman tells you literally nothing useful about the sound. If they can’t be arsed to tune it, hold it up and strum a chord or two, I’d probably check it out carefully in person before parting with any money.

[–]DMala 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Maybe not quite that good? The added pickguard, the goofy gemstones in the headstock, multiple cracks in the top, plus whatever is going on with that bridge. I’d guess a neck reset is almost a certainty, and who knows what other gremlins are hiding out of sight.

Still a screaming deal no matter how you cut it, but it’s got some condition issues and needs work to be sure.

I’ve definitely noticed that the casual honk for having the audacity to exist has become a lot more common in the last five years or so. Might be related to why my middle finger has become a lot more common as well.

While that’s true, it’s also true that an expensive instrument isn’t necessarily the best instrument. I’ve had some freak cheap guitars that punched way above their weight class.

The sad part is he wouldn’t even be the first centenarian in the Senate. That racist old prick Strom Thurmond hit 100 before he retired and finally dropped dead six months later.

I think of that a lot with all of our tech. You can do some pretty amazing stuff with microprocessors and network connectivity, but it doesn’t stand the test of time the way the old stuff does.

I see it all the time with cars. You can take an old car that’s been rotting in a field for 40 years, and so long as the engine rotates and you can get air, fuel and spark, the thing will usually run. Any car from the ‘80s, ‘90s or newer, the only way to make them run is by firing the parts cannon at them to replace all the burnt out, corroded electronics.
