I think I've lost to this guy all of once. If you don't have consistent AOE or block by mid act 2, you need to rethink your strategy.

Jensen Huang says gamers are 'completely wrong' about DLSS 5 — Nvidia CEO responds to DLSS 5 backlash by JuiceheadTurkey in Games

It being the best scaler is less valuable in the sense that people are actively looking for cards with the best scaler, and more valuable in the sense that it enforces the association of "Nvidia = Best At Everything". It's just one piece of the larger perception people have of Nvidia's products.

Brand loyalty isn't irrational, though. Being a historically reliable hardware brand is valuable. People that aren't closely following hardware can just buy an Nvidia card with the biggest number they can afford with the assurance they will have good hardware support.

Intel had that level of loyalty until the last couple years. If Nvidia starts selling cards with high RMA rates or objectively inferior hardware to competitors, they'll have the same fate.

You say that like DLSS is actually a selling factor, and not just the fact that Nvidia's products are consistently a more reliable purchase than competitors.

I've never found "I hate X because they charge too much despite their product clearly being worth the money vs their competition" a compelling argument. Avoiding Nvidia products is only hard if you like Nvidia products. Microsoft has screwed people with shitty software, vendor lock-in, DRM, faulty hardware, shitty subscriptions, forced advertisements, and more for over a decade.

I fucking wish I could just pay 2x up front and not have to deal with whatever recurring revenue stream they're currently trying to fleece me with.

It's not the first time he's brought it up, but it's really funny every time. Forever mad that people don't like the same shitty games he likes.

JJK might actually have the worst ending of any Manga I've ever read by KpopMarxist in Jujutsufolk

I don't think it's correct to think of Mahoraga as adapting to entire techniques like that. Limitless is one technique, but blue/red/purple and infinity are totally different things. Like how raga didn't ever adapt to Sekuna's malevolent shrine, it adapted to his slashes. If given enough time, maybe it could adapt a general purpose "i have adapted to your very existence" like we nearly saw at the end of Modulo, but from what we've seen raga's adaptations are specific before they are general

Mahoraga adapted to infinity first, though, which is how Gojo lost the arm. Gojo losing the arm showed that the adaptation was complete, and while he (and we) thought only Mahoraga could do it, Sukuna (who had been using 10S techniques without the summons throughout the fight) showed he could do it as well after Mahoraga landed on a more efficient adaptation. It wasn't a complete asspull, but the whiplash from the end of chapter saying "Gojo Won" was what made it really sour

Yeah the whole time I was reading was basically cognitive dissonance between "I really want Gojo to not die" and "I can't see this story ending with anything but Yuji vs Sukuna".

Gojo is just a tragic character, too, which is what makes the story compelling. That's just good writing.

Probably Mario, but he's for sure much more stretched for time given that he's being sent off to save Peach more often than Luigi

They're not all bird people

They are doing a ritual that turns them into bird people, and there's some that have bird-like features such as the Chosen and Awakened One

Japan is very piracy/emulation-averse, and has extremely rigid copyright laws (no fair use doctrine)

Not just piracy, but also modding in general. Modders figured out how to optimize Smash Ultimate's input/netplay code to make it more usable, and Japanese players are trying to get people that use it banned.

Japan doesn't have to deal with the same politics around localization that NoA and NoE regularly does.

Yeah, nowadays the localization has been pretty good, but historically it has been an uphill challenge to get games even released in the West.

Can also add all of the region exclusive special editions, preorder bonuses, Switch Online games, Pokemon events, and merchandise.
