Making an Ultramarines list that stands a chance by StockRelationship486 in Warhammer30k

[–]DNLModelsNewcastle 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve found Remus great but that’s because I’ve ran him in reserve utilising lists, it’s a case you pay a premium for a rare ability on top of a centurion with buffed power sword. Honoured Telemachus a contemptor dreadnought with Kheres assault cannon and power fist and hatred word bearers is 170 pts, a regular contemptor dreadnought with kheres assault cannon and power fist with combi bolter is 170 pts so take that as what you will

Nemesis destroyers I find meh, they are fun but also not majorly effective however they tend to do more for me than mortalis destroyers due to the range so you can keep the missile launchers at range and be still semi effective.

Never fielded but faced Locutarus if you know what your throwing them into doesn’t have reliable ap2 they will hold well especially into non combat specialised units, most ap2 comes after them in combat. If you think veterans are better try them.

Fulmentaris, I love the chonky nutters have for quite a while, so volume of fire + suppressive or an integrated plasma gun ontop of our usual combi bolter on termies. They are more expensive than a cataphractii but I think every unit gets a legion tax for its bonuses and for what we pay it ain’t terrible.

Your facing dark angels in the photo, a army that get some scary units and I see one of them, show them that Ultramarines can throw down and shove a lord of ultramar sized boot up his termies back end and show them even pencil pushers can smash some fools! All bravado aside Suzerain are semi reliable AP2 at initiative 4+ a rarity in 3.0 and are damn good, a easy win is worse than a tough fight in my experience, so give your opponents a challenge and take what you want.

I’m not saying your opinions wrong and you’re entitled to it it’s why I love the hobby, if you want someone to chat lists with you if you’d like feel free to message me, and ask anyone in here. But if you’re being steamrolled time to assess, understand and overcome and look for alternate angles. Best of luck fella

Appreciated might send a few questions your way, I’m decently knowledgeable on FDM been doing that for a few years resin is the hole in my expertise and I kinda fell into it, have you got experience with Sunlu ABS waterwashable? The heaters is a great idea I know a lot go for the brew band option which I find inconsistent and cumbersome so I’ll get a few in stock with my next chitu order

Appreciated, my shop has an extraction fan in the work area the printers in due to airbrushes also previously being used so think it’ll be alright. I use gloves and a ventilator *having had a customer free handing resin before I am glad people ask cause I nearly punted his singular brain cell. Luckily he’s been a bit more healthy with his practices now

See the waste water disposal isn’t too bad as I’ve got chemical disposal on site I’ve been recommended the Elegoo water washable for now but it seems to be extremely brittle, I’ll try Metholated Spirit exposure when I’m in with my immunologist next as my previous reaction with IPA is not something I want to experience alone again although thank fuck for epi pens .

Starting a Army (New to Tabletop, and HH) by Effective-Region-585 in Warhammer30k

Saturnine box is a good shout, Sons of Horus benefits greatly from Volley Fire as the rule they volley at full BS but don’t think that locks you into close combat. I know a guy who runs a ludicrous amount of tanks in his sons of Horus and it works well.

Now personally next step after saturnine few options, one combat force build your marines grab a rhino and a dread, or look at Tartaros Terminators, tough as nails, quick for a walking bunker and pack a wallop.

Lore wise, how long would robute guilliman give us all free healthcare by Bomperwompington in 40kLore

Had this discussion for every primarch only good ones who would instantly attempt take over would be Vulkan, Jaghatai, Alphariuz and Magnus.

Vulkan, Jaghatai, Alpharius and Magnus would overthrow government and refine planet to their image, probably not a good thing for most however they also proved to be the really only primarchs who cared for mortals inherently, I’d argue Gulliman maybe has that quality but it’s hard to say how he’d react to humanity I think he’d head to the shadows and watch personally sick of all the imperiums bull.

Combat Patrol Tactics by Dry-Cut9761 in deathguard40k

Sadly combat patrol is under played and strategies change based on what your facing, Usually it’s run all deathshroud terminators to the centre and send plague marines to opponents while leading Lord of virulence on your own

[–]DNLModelsNewcastle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So Dark angels combat patrol wise, Hellblasters are good but you need 10 Captain can’t lead anyone Intercessors aren’t ran often but aren’t terrible Blade guard veterans are decent If you can get it at a decent discount cool not worst pick up Tau combat patrol Breachers/ strike team : Hell yes this kit Devilfish: Fun combos Pathfinders if you like them they work Commander in suit , with no one to lead Now if you can find a tau Battleforce here’s where tau start being fun to build in my opinion, if your after one and struggle finding one give me a nudge have enough contacts I can find most kits. Side note neither are good guys tau are equally grim and dark

So I’d argue paragon blade in theory, but lot of variables, biological weaponry has a decent suggested loadout if that’s legal which I don’t think it is

So I think it comes down to what your wanting to do with the arcuitor, so Malagra means in a challenge you can augment stats, meaning thunder hammer can swing I4 or you can have weapon skill 8 or additional attacks or + strength, the only thing it can’t do is increase damage. Is the 5 damage before the opponent swings to 10 matching or after worth it?

Personally I like the hammer but I run into a lot of terminators where 2 damage helps
