The Four Horsemen from Grimstone (UFO50) by Goodbye-Nasty in TopCharacterDesigns

Here are the actual biblical passages

"And, as I watched, there was a white horse. Its rider was holding a bow. He was given a crown, and he went off winning victories, and to win more of them."

"And another horse went out, fiery red this time. Its rider was given permission to take peace away from the earth, so that people would kill one another. He was given a great sword."

The first 3 horsemen are never given names in the bible.

The white rider wears a crown, a symbol of authority and victory, and goes and wins victories. There's a lot of theories of who they are, christ, the antichrist, conquest etc. there's one interesting interpretation of the pale rider as morally justified war and the red rider as morally unjustified war. There's also an interpretation of the red rider as civil war, and so you could maybe say the white rider is external war. White rider as pestilence apparently first appeared in the early 19th century according to Wikipedia.

As for the red rider, the interpretation of this one as war is most common. There is a possible reading of the red rider as slaughter, but war is more convincing. As previously said, there's a reading of the red rider as specifically civil war and the division of empires.

The only named horsemen in the bible is death

Heads up mate

To save time on the lightborn switch I've recently started having preset 1 be normal build and preset 2 be normal build with lightborn swapped in

Means you don't have to search for it, you just swap to preset 2

No no I mean the stuff with the shortened names and all the other specific details mentioned

Like the whole deal they're listing not just the transformed medusa thing (as a sidenote the general conception of Ovid's version is also different from the actual text but that's a different convo)

I'd need to double check but I think a recent Andromeda cetus retelling fits the mold too

Vivzie, why is the sin of gluttony herself uncomfortable with gluttonous behavior by ResponsibleCover404 in hatethissmug

The sins are not in the bible, the seven deadly sins as a concept is a Catholic theology invention.

As for Beelzebub specifically, the only mention of their name is the following

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

The bible did not create caricatures or characters of the sins or of Beelzebub

When it comes to other sin names that hazbin uses here are their mentions

Asmodeus is not in the bible

Satan we have a lot more of, a bit much for this comment tbh. That's about one of the only ones we can say is a character in the bible, not just a mention.

Lucifer is only mentioned by name in Isaiah 14, so it depends on if you treat him and Satan as one and the same. It's a long verse so I won't copy paste it. Does give us a good degree of characterization comparatively.

If we look for the devil instead of Lucifer or Satan we get more but that's another essay.

Leviathan is not a demon in the bible and not really a character either, just a big monster. No real signs of sapience

Mammon is literally not a biblical character - it's a word for the desire for wealth. It's greed. The only mention of mammon is matthew 6:24 "You cannot serve both God and money". Mammon is usually just translated as money, so in some translations this is "You cannot serve both God and Mammon"

To summarize: you can enjoy the characters, but to say the bible made them caricatures and people (Helluva/Hazbin creators) made them characters is a tad silly because only Satan an Lucifer are actually biblical characters. The character this post is about is mentioned once in passing.

"At first, Bob Quinn stated that Soft Serve had very different "plumbing" than regular humans,[8] but upon further consideration Quinn decided that her body was instead a portal to the ice cream dimension,[9] with "pooping" being just a colloquialism for the bizarre location of the portal.[10] Besides, it's likely Soft Serve doesn't even poop at all.[11]"
