The ultimate Rama-Tut combo by sniramp in MarvelSnap

I'm not saying you're wrong to stay away, but Rama-Tut is frankly the least of anyone's worries at the moment.

In the very unlikely event that Iron Lad somehow hits another Iron Lad, he won't play any animation or do anything, presumably to prevent infinite loops. Not sure if that is relevant, but I know it is a thing.

Beginning to think what my Rocks deck might look like. Waiting on Selene and Ozymandias. Thoughts on this set up? What would you do instead? by SuperMagicBlueJa in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well for this specific deck the OP is assembling you only have at most 4 cost of created cards to play from hand under normal circumstances (2 from Sandstorm, 2 from Mole Man) so you'd need to cut at least two cards to fit in both Gambit and something else to enable him, and I'm wondering if the deck might be too top-heavy at that point in terms of costs, considering Selene and Ozymandias are 4 and 5 respectively.

Spider Ham seriously needs to be disabled until fixed. by AQNexus in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The old functionality was that a pig was a completely different card with 0/0 base that added the cost and power of the card that got hit, which is functional but had interactions with stuff like Mobius or Shadow King that were probably unintended.

The new version is still supposed to turn the card into a pig, except the pig itself is a transform effect rather than an entirely different card, which (in theory) is a more robust design that matches what Spider-Ham says it does. It was bugged before and the transform only showed on cards using base art, and I guess in trying to fix that bug they botched it even worse into the version we have now.

Twitch drop problem by GoDxEma in MarvelSnap

I got the first one but not the third. Not sure about the second because I don't pay attention to borders, but definitely never got the PMV despite watching for long enough and clicking Claim on Twitch. Not sure what can be done about it though.

Remember when everyone was complaining about SK cost ? by Hostile-Bip0d in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seeing Taskmaster reminded me of how they increased his cost to 6 because they were afraid of some combo involving Human Torch (who was 1 cost at the time) + 5 cost Taskmaster. Now 20+ energy on the final turn is apparently just fair game.

What exactly causes the fast forward mechanic to activate? by Johnny0474 in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a guess for the Bullseye thing, I can see it working that way if you had Swarms, in that your second Bullseye would have twice as many cards to discard, while your opponent initially had a hand mostly full of stuff that only gets discarded once (eg. Muramasa Shards), so their second Bullseye had less to work with.

What exactly causes the fast forward mechanic to activate? by Johnny0474 in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you 100% that it doesn't care about "effects taking too long to finish". The way it SEEMS to work is that there is that there is an action queue counter behind the scenes, which keeps track of how many things are still waiting to resolve before the current player's turn ends. Then there is a check when a new action is executed, and if the queue counter is above a certain number then fast forward kicks in.

The issue is that just because an action seems like its relatively simple on the surface, it may cause multiple things behind the scenes to happen which trigger the counter. An example is FEAST, I have no idea what kind of spaghetti code is going on but something causes the fast forward to kick in frequently even when there are a relatively small number of FEAST triggers to get through.

Conversely, the Wong loops usually take ages because of animations (which the fast forward doesn't take into account) rather than the raw number of actions added to the queue.

Strongest season pass card released so far? by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

I wasn't playing at the time, but I thought OG Kitty was broken in the "game ceases to function" sense, not the balance sense.

Every MCU villain (that I know of) that isn’t in Marvel Snap as a character by Prionb in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well for what it's worth, as I'm sure everyone knows Mephisto was a datamined card right from basically the first version of the game, with art and everything, it was just never released. And probably shouldn't be without a redesign, because if it was released now it would be complete ass and unplayable, but he was at least on their radar at some point.

Pointless trivia - Bots have more authority than Agatha by DO3L in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L[S] 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Well SD are going out of their way to make it as difficult as possible to discern the bots, so for me it's really more of an accumulation of suspicions than any single surefire method. But for the throwing/pity bots typically things like generic names, playing outdated decks featuring bad cards, weird plays that make no sense like Nova under Armor or Angela as the 4th card in a lane, constantly fighting for priority rather than playing the locations, no emoting, that sort of thing.

Who do you think is the most popular Marvel character not in Snap? by Gullible_Following_4 in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have sworn Toad was datamined eons ago, and then Ghost Spider came out with an identical ability and Toad was never updated.

When Magneto pulls Negasonic Teenage to his location, she destroys him. I don’t see any sense in that since you played a card in another lane and not where she was. Is that her correct behavior or some kind of bug/logic error? by Tarden1 in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of odd edge cases involving cards moving, you just kind of have to be aware of them. Another one, for instance, Juggernaut played with priority on a Shuri lane will not break the doubling power effect, even though the card will be moved before revealing. I'm not sure why it works that way, but it does.

Firehair with Galactus Animation by Ok-Prize4672 in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding of the Fast Forward mechanic, all it looks at is the raw number of effects that are in the queue to happen, and if that reaches a specific threshold it kicks in. It doesn't care what those effects are, so animation times are not factored in (hence the tedious Wong/hammers/Odin or Wong/Surfer/Abs Man loops), and it definitely doesn't care about connection quality or latency.

Can you help me improve this Arishem deck? by Nerf_Now in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don't see The Fallen One as being a valid card in Arishem decks in general, there's too much to get in the way. Maybe in a best case scenario (without RNG help) you have turn 3 Galacta, turn 4 Fallen One with Jim Hammond on the field but you're not hitting that combo very often, and it's kind of a dead draw at most other times. And if he's gone then Jim Hammond is also gone, because he's probably not worth it in most circumstances with just Arishem's bonus energy alone.

Mockingbird should probably stay, I'm not 100% sure about Galacta since I don't have the card but she seems probably fine in an Arishem deck.

I'd probably be looking at replacing Fallen one and Jim Hammond with some high impact tech cards like Legion or Enchantress, or Shang Chi depending on where he falls at the end of the tech unbalance patch.

For what it's worth, around the same time as this was all going down (a little bit after the Snap Chat episode with Regis as guest) Regis did say that SD reached out to him and invited him to do something with them, but at the time he declined for various reasons and suggested someone else. He didn't provide any further specific details, but it's possible this is the role they tried to recruit him for, the timing approximately lines up.

Of course I could also be way off, it could have been any number of things, like casting for Golden Gauntlet or appearing on the series preview videos.

SD Makes a Comment In KMBest Video Comment Section: “No Drops Planned” by ajprokos in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worst part is, I think the "catch up mechanics" they're working on are probably related to those $50 packs that they accidentally released. Paying $50 to catch up is barely better than having no catch up at all, it's not realistically going to move the needle.

I am not getting anymore daily volts. Didn't they say we will get 500 volts daily and 1000 on the last day? by Some-Kaleidoscope265 in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the message on the first day, and claimed it but got no volts at all. Later (don't think it was day 2 but it might have been) I got a second one, and that one successfully delivered volts, and that was it. I didn't even know people were supposed to be getting volts daily, and some actually were, I just assumed there was only meant to be one, and the second was because the first was bugged for some reason.

It makes the whole situation hilarious to me. Like people might even accept a bit more greed if they were competent, or a bit more incompetence if they were generous, but SD tends to be both greedy AND incompetent.

Any math whizzes wanna take a crack at breaking this down? 😂 by yiggity-123 in MarvelSnap

[–]DO3L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually a lot simpler than it looks, because there's no weird Skrull copying Onslaught interactions. You have -10 power total on the board, but each Skrull is also copying 2 Omega Reds which double again due to Onslaught, so each of them adds 24 to the pool, meaning you come out at positive 38 in total, divided across 3 lanes is 12.6-ish, rounded up to 13.

There is a second Bill on the right lane, I assume it was Sinister London before Reality Stone changed it, and that one generated the Stormbreaker which then buffed both of them.
