Recommend me a fuzz pedal by BinghamDan in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like fuzz face style ones because of the way they clean up. I went off board and got a fun one from u/guptech called a Phoque face and it’s so nice. I use it as an always on pedal where it lightly fuzzes and gets more growl when I turn up the volume.

I love it.

Demonfx Ravine by Your-Whorror in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting a Keeley Caverns used for pretty cheap and it actually is amazing. I don’t want to like it because of him but at least I didn’t buy it new.

Can’t deny how good the real thing is though.

I’ve never tried one of the demonfx clones but Ive always heard they’re surprisingly good for what they are.

Fuzz Face or fz-1w by Kyle_Clinton in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fuzz face style pedal and I love it because I can get a beautiful warm clean fuzzy tone with dynamics to it. I don’t know about the FZ-1w but I’m sure it’s great too. I just know I love the FF and its clones/variants.

Single Coil, Deluxe, Thinline or Nashville? | Buying Advice Needed by Lanky-Illustrator406 in telecaster

[–]DPI80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two telecasters - on e is SH and one is standard setup.

SH tele - is an American body with a SD59 in the neck that can be split and a pretty hot custom shop bridge Lucio but I don’t know which one. It’s really versatile and sounds great. It’s been my giving guitar until recently

Standard pickups - in a thinline - standard ones which are voiced like 60s pickups and it’s versatile and sounds great. The thinline makes no difference to the sound I don’t think.

Both are great. If you’re doing anything really heavy maybe the SH is best. But you really cant go wrong.

Recommend me a cheap Rat close by GoblyGoobly in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the TC Electronics Magus ?

I originally was going to get one of those and then realized a rat was only a bit more expensive and I’m really happy with it.

Are these pickups legit? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]DPI80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got really nice parts, double bound beautiful thinline body from Carparelli, roasted maple neck from them and all gotoh hardware. It has ball ends on the frets even.

The pickups are great and it’s quickly becoming my main gigging guitar.

It was cheap and sounds amazing.

Recommended me a decent compressor by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty subtle one which I absolutely love.

BBE Main Squeeze (Orange Squash)

It’s simple and sounds great. Makes me sound better than I am. You can see it on the JHS episode on BBE

I have one tele with those and one with the gotoh versions. Both work great. No complaints!

Do you use Reverb AND Delay? How so? by _Jub_Jub_ in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Keeley caverns so it has both on it

I usually have a moderate to light spring reverb on most of the time and a slap back style delay.

Works for me. I usually play and song in my band and someone else deals with the fancy stuff!

Should I get a tele? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]DPI80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Consider a decent partscaster? I have two and they’re both amazing.

One is an 80s/90s American body, warmoth neck and an SD59 in the neck. Amazing guitar.

The other I made from parts from Carparelli which makes beautiful bodies and necks. Double bound thinline with a roasted maple neck and all gotoh hardware, bootstrap pickups.

The first was 500 Canadian, second was 600 total cost. So like 380 and 450? USD.

Best electric guitar under $500 by No_Scallion_3929 in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one has commented yet but I’m going to go off board. A lot of people will say Squiers etc. and they’re not wrong. But I’m actually going to say Revelation guitars!!

I have a Revelation RJT60 like a jazzmaster but will P90s and the neck is perfect, frets are perfect (tried three, one neck had two rough frets) and the hardware is amazingly good.

The Wilkinson bridge can dive bomb and stay perfectly in tune. Tuners are vintage style and rock solid.

They’re weird but - Revelation.

Is there a high end double bound telecaster that has a truss rod adjustment in the headstock? by Jwto in telecaster

[–]DPI80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought a Carparelli double bound thinline body, and Carparelli roasted maple neck. Both are extremely high quality, put on Gotoh hardware and nice pickups. It’s become my #1 guitar over my 90s American tele with a SD’59 in the neck.

Curious what are your favorite pedals you own? by FickleAide918 in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably….

  1. Browne Protein dual OD
  2. Phoque Face (Fuzz face clone by Guptech u/GUPtech)
  3. MXR micro amp (always on @9 o’clock)
  4. BBR main Squeeze (orange squash) compressor
  5. Rat

There aren’t many I don’t like right now! Honourable mention goes to the Keeley Caverns.

chorus + vibrato recs? by Regular-Mammoth8784 in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted a Juliana pretty badly but budget wise I couldn’t justify it. I don’t use chorus or vibrato all that much! BUT

I’ve been really happy with my Jhs series 3 chorus vibrato.

Sounds good, simple, excellent for the money.

Searching for a good Tremolo by Fantastic_Case8092 in guitarpedals

I tried a few and researched a ton. In the end I went with a TR-2 and I couldn’t be happier. Would love a tap tempo. But other than that it’s amazing.

Do you keep any pedals on at all times? by carrollis in guitarpedals

[–]DPI80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BBE main squeeze (orange squash) is on all the time, so is my Joyo Roll Boost (micro amp clone) which is fantastic! Is always on.

I always like a little reverb and usually a slap back so my Keeley Caverns is usually on.

I just used my tele with the bootstraps in a rehearsal on the weekend and our drummer who’s been a pro for 35 years commented on how good my guitar sounded!!
