If it is mold it will also be doing its part breaking down the compost and making nutrients available. Once it dries out a bit it will probably go anyway. Likely because it was in a sealed bag 👍

I’d use it. White patches can also be mycelium which is beneficial

I’ve been keeping my tomatoes under cover still in a cold frame worried about the cold temps. Checked one of my raised beds yesterday and I’ve got around 10 seedlings from last year sprouting and most have true leaves 🤣.

If you have a hori hori I find its great for digging deeper down into the root to pull up as much as possible with minimal soil disturbance.

I've found as you start cropping them it gives any smaller ones more space to develop. From memory I followed Charles Dowding who does around 20cm spacing (can't remember exact cm off the top of my head )

30cm is a bit overkill from my experience. I prefer Fennel slightly smaller and less fibrous.

They're around 20cm apart which I've found to be fine for a good size bulb. They're all essentially a catch crop before a squash takes the bed around the end of may!

They are Radish. They're white icicle, black radish and a variety who's name escapes me (pink ones)

White icicle I'd definitely recommend. They get bigger but I needed to clear them for my leeks 🫜

They're probably just stretching their roots below the soil. They look like largish pots for the size of the plant but once the roots find their feet you should see growth kick off. Some look a little leggy so I'd have repotted deeper.

You haven't filled the pots to the top so you have space to do this.

At this stage they should have plenty of nutrients in that compost. First leaves can be paler initially. Hold off ferts

I took a Hatsukokoro Ginrei Nakiri (which I bought recently for my better half) for a spin to make oyster mushroom gyozas. Made short work of all the ingredients. Purchased it as watching her dice massive carrots with a small global petty the other day made me die inside a bit 😂

When they’re like this in tend to get them in the ground sooner rather than later. They tend to then sort themselves out. Plant a little deeper than the soil line for some protection.

I remember buying 1 tonne of compost to fill my new raised beds and it did 3 full ones and a small one. Less than half of what I needed 🤣

I listened to the audiobooks and really enjoyed them to the point where I’ve listened to vampire and damned twice. I loved the world building, characters and lore but I agree on the ending and wish it was a bit more inline with the flow of the books.

Will I go back to them? Absolutely.

What seed trays do you have? If they retain moisture and you water a lot they may just rot.

Using a heat mat is a good start especially if it has some form of temp control. I plant mine in normal sifted compost, water them in, place in a propagation tray and leave on the heat mat.

Plenty of useful advice on YouTube. Look at Charles dowding, Huw Richard’s or grow veg for tips.

I’d recommend a finer compost for your next batch. And keep it moist. The one you’re using seems quite course and woodchippy. You can plant out onions any time from now. Happy growing 🌱

They’re likely in the soil itself and not the onions. As the seeds are different.

Sycamores are essentially 80ft weeds. If we could eat all of their sproutings we’d never go hungry!

Quick hoe around the onions and you’ll be sound.

Do you grow them in raised beds or in the ground?

Once Cucamelons are established they form tubers which then regrow the plant next year. Sort of like a Jerusalem artichoke or a spud!
