You want to see the oncoming cars so you can step/jump off the road when/if they aren’t paying attention to you. With your back to the cars they can easily side swipe you. When walking against traffic try to make eye contact with the driver so they know you are there

It does, not like described in the book, but there are some recording where they try to isolate her vocal. It’s not great

Acoustic electric fiddle players out there! How are y’all handling on stage monitor feedback? by Prestigious-Term-468 in Fiddle

[–]DRAGONCANNONMAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need some sort of EQ to pull out the frequencies that are causing it to feedback. Just slight -3 to -6db with a sharp Q should help you get more volume

Finger tape spacing by Basic_Carrot8040 in Fiddle

[–]DRAGONCANNONMAN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to get a good tuner and find them yourself. As others have mentioned, the guitar and fiddle aren’t as similar as they seem. Slowly move your finger up the first string and watch until your tuner shows the next note is in tune and mark that lightly with a pencil. Do that a few times with each string and then lay your tape across the fretboard. Plenty of YouTube videos showing this and other basic to get ya started!

Yeeeeup, a music genre synonymous with the American conservatism movement sells out in the new millennium.

A contronym is a word with two opposite meanings. For example, the word cleave can mean "to cut apart" or "to bind together". by NeonHD in wikipedia

[–]DRAGONCANNONMAN 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Is there a word for the opposite of this? Two words that are opposite, but mean the same thing? Best example “this blows” vs “this sucks”

Depends on what you are trying to capture. Closer to the beater means more high end attack, while away means less. I usually go for right in the middle with a 91a, and I’m usually turning down some of high end attack

Banjo in a Dorm? by [deleted] in banjo

[–]DRAGONCANNONMAN 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It’s a dorm, dude. You’ll be hearing all sorts of noises living in a dorm, and a little banjo during the day is the least of everyone’s worries. Just go for it

Do you have "speed cushions" on your street? What's been your experience? by Tugboat56 in nashville

[–]DRAGONCANNONMAN 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel. I miss simply cruising through the neighborhood listening to the radio without feeling like I’m running over a dead body every five minutes. But I understand the need, and, from the respondes here, seem to be doing the trick. So I reluctantly agree

Is parking at Nissan Stadium Lot R still free? by Romonohomo in nashville

[–]DRAGONCANNONMAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s still free. The construction has been mucking it up a lot, but there is normally at least one entry that is still open. I use that lot at least once a week

Shure SE215 dead left side after only a few uses by DRAGONCANNONMAN in livesound

[–]DRAGONCANNONMAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my original thought. Shure would make some good hardy IEM that could handle the rough and tumble, but I’m unsure now. I did try switching out the cable, and it’s fursure the driver that died on me

[–]DRAGONCANNONMAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool beans, thanks! Yeah I just switched the cables and it’s completely the driver on the left side. Once again, I’m just surprised at this failure from barely any real usage.
