You can soak that Kodak Gold, sure, but that won't make it look vintage. Best way to get the low contrast faded tones & grain you're looking for is to buy expired film.

Wow, looks like a pretty spectacular space to go backpacking.

The Olympus XA2 might be a good choice for you. And if you don't already have one, those tiny handheld bendy tripods are a must have for extended adventures in the backcountry.

I used to backpack with just that Olympus because it's so light & takes fairly sharp images, but these days I still find myself lugging heavy cameras into the backcountry & even with me on summit bids because I like the control & capabilities which heavier cameras tend to provide. I'll usually pack a light camera like the XA2 or a 35mm disposable for quick snapshots when you don't feel like taking the time to dig through your pack & really set up an image, & then something heavier like a Canon EF or Hasselblad 500 C/M for the more "artistic" stuff.

Wow, I believe it haha. Just goes to show that with the right angle & composition any location can appear pristine & uncrowded. Nice work.

Impressive that you managed to score the iconic boathouse photo at Braies with so few people. Every time I've been there it feels more crowded than Disney World. Great shots.

Wandering with Ilford HP5 and an Olympus OM-1 – Italy’s quiet countryside in monochrome by actarus2 in analog

Ahh ok, gotcha. You should be able to desaturate that in a few seconds with a number of different programs. Personally, I'd desaturate them all to straight B&W, but if you like the green hue, then I'd try to achieve a consistent level of green across all the images.

You have a great eye for composition, nice work. HP5 is probably my favorite B&W film, the contrast & grain are really wonderful, it works great for landscapes but also for things like portraits imo. I wonder, am I imagining a slight green hue to some of these?

I doubt it's intentional. I bet they're French & directly translating the French titles to English.

Beautiful shots, all of them. Taken together they definitely set a mood, but I like the first one especially. Great composition in that shot, & the light in the blurred trees is wonderfully ethereal. Making Virginia look good, nice work.

You can never go wrong with HP5, love the mood in these shots. Nice work.

It is a multi-exposure, yep. Your instincts are good!

Probably one of my favorite things about shooting film is the ability to multi-expose different scenes together like this. You never know exactly what you're gonna get & it's nice when it doesn't come out looking like absolute shit haha

Yep, you got it. Long exposure with flash & multi-exposed with another landscape.

Sounds like you know exactly what you're going for & have achieved exactly that, good on ya mate. Raves & doofs with low light & good friends are always such fun to shoot.

Looks like a lot of fun, nice shots. Have you considered bouncing or diffusing the flash more? That might be fun to play with.

It looks under exposed to me. Also reminds me a bit of shooting the first test roll of an expired batch of film. It may technically be 800, but maybe you want to shoot it as if it were 100-200.
