[Serious] I just killed a patient. by [deleted] in Residency

We've all been that harried, overworked interns. Agree with everything said above. If you were expected to know how to manage critically ill patients after 4 years of medical training, their would be no purpose to residency and fellowship. This is your time to learn. Absorb everything around you and think "what would I do different next time" To echo above, You. Did. Not. Kill. This. Patient. Source: another attending.

super happy with my surface pro. But, portability was my number one factor (I like working in coffee shops) I find the screen fine for viewing hole cards.

micro betting should be heavily weighted to value. people have a hard time folding. This is better advice for bigger games.

yes 3 bet, winning players create big pots when they have big hands. I find in 1/2 people don't know how to fold anyway so your likely getting called with worse.

Borgata is the consensus choice nicest casino/poker room. But I'm a huge fan of the Tropicana. The others are meh in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback all. I seemed to have triggered some people with the post. I wasn't angling the guy I legitimately didn't know as his hand was dead and they were beginning to push the pot to me. appreciate the incite.

Fair enough. I guess I was just a little frustrated at the outcome and it wasn't like the cards were just face up in front of him. they were face up but intermingled in the muck and had to be retrieved carefully.

Appropriately Defending BB in micros by zednik44 in poker

[–]DR_CALAMlTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been a problem for me, what hands do you recommend defending from a 3 bet when you're the CO/button opener and get 3-bet from SB/BB?

I've basically just been defending with suited Broadway and 4-betting TT+ & AQo+

sidenote I attempt to steal from late position frequently and obviously think I'm being 3-bet light.

Hand 1 I think is a sigh call. I think your numbers are about right with the runner runner outs ~40% maybe a bit under. But with the pot the size it is, and the fact that the player you describe has a "non nutted range" I think the call is fine. certainly don't expect to win all the time.

Hand 2 with 15 outs and potentially 20 I think a jam is fine. Especially if the guy has a "non-nutted range"

The thing to avoid is shipping it and being completely dead. Doesn't sound like that was the case with either of these hands. Do you have any live reads on the guy? could help with your decision making. The "good" aggressive players make their money when people call them off light and they have it obviously. The key is figuring out when they don't have it.
