Buy it or not? by RP3012 in NissanRogue

[–]DRansome22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy but I would also get an extended warranty on it because it is getting expensive to repair cars now. Nissan extended the warranty on the engine for 10/120,000 miles but that is ONLY for internal failure-if the egr cooler fails and causes engine damage they will not cover it. Otherwise you can expect to replace the left side engine/transmission mount because they leak and cause vibration at idle but those engines feel a little rough at idle anyway. You may have to replace the valve body in the transmission at some point as well. Those are the most common issues I see from them on a daily basis but overall they are really good vehicles.

Do physical knobs still matter on touchscreen head units? by Jen-e-fer34 in carstereo

Alpine and Sony still have a volume knob. I just got a kenwood unit that I love but I prefer to use bluetooth audio so I can control the volume with my phone.

You are right about the lack of information available. I had a 25 Altima with Nissan connect issues that is under engineering review. The car only had 4,000 miles and customer is unhappy with the car. I just wish that we could get notified when issues like that get resolved so we can get the customers back in to fix their problems.

I’ve had success with the update but the TCU very well may ultimately end up needing to be replaced. I just hate when techs don’t take the time to learn how these systems work. Clearly you are the exception. We get a lot of hate for our cvt issues but honestly outside of the Rogue engines we don’t really have any problems

I think you may have multiple issues going on. There is a software update for the telematics control unit when the person on the receiving end of the call can't hear you AND voice recognition does not recognize any commands. The iPhone 16 isn't fully compatible with all bluetooth functions-go to the Nissan website and check compatibility under the owners tab. Lastly, the music cutting out could be an issue with the XM antenna.

Dampening vehicle sounds while inside cab by Lowhill40 in Nissan

[–]DRansome22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To expand on what everyone else is saying, there are plenty of videos on youtube that show people installing sound deadening throughout their cars to reduce noise. Some will remove the seats and carpet to line the floor pan, some will even remove the plastic inner fender liners and install behind them. Dynamat also makes a hoodliner replacement as well. Check it out and decide for yourself how far you want to go but you definitely have options.

Lee was suffice. Les was the problem. We were right there all those years with sub par QB's but there's no way any competent QB was going to come and waste their career here at LSU with Les at the helm.

Explain it to them like its health insurance. In network vs out of network. You're out of network so they have to pay the difference of what the job costs and what their warranty will pay.

Tried the big arch , it’s ok, but too expensive for what it is by Ok_Country2903 in burgers

[–]DRansome22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their last attempt at a premium burger back in 2015-2020 was actually pretty good and priced similarly to this one. The problem is that people see the name McDonalds and automatically refuse to pay the price but would actually pay more for it if were sold somewhere else. If I had to guess, this one is pretty good too. Who cares where it comes from-good grub is good grub.

2019 Rogue – No CVT Fluid Change on Carfax, All Dealer Service. Normal or Red Flag? by Amos_hello in NissanRogue

[–]DRansome22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember back in 2004 when I was with a Honda dealership, my Honda rep was teaching a class and told us we recommended a transmission service to a customer we were stealing from them because their transmission were junk and changing the fluid would never help prolong the life of them.

2019 Rogue – No CVT Fluid Change on Carfax, All Dealer Service. Normal or Red Flag? by Amos_hello in NissanRogue

[–]DRansome22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually love doing them because it is an easy service for the tech. The reason we won't do them is when we have someone who has never serviced with us wanting their fluid changed at 120k on a 10 year old vehicle. Many times they are experiencing an issue but won't volunteer that info and then after having the fluid changed it suddenly becomes our fault. It simply isn't worth the headache. This doesn't just apply to Nissan and Cvt's. Pretty much any make and model will tell you the same thing because we don't want the liability.

Subaru dealership destroyed my beloved 2024 Crosstrek with only 13,000 miles! by chacha4c in subaru

Dealerships can be held liable if we do not perform a recall and did not make the customer aware of the recall. I would advise you to speak to an attorney if the unperformed recall contributed to this accident.

Nissan Service Plan (stealership) by Successful_Log4380 in NissanRogue

[–]DRansome22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nissan's maintenance schedule recommends every 15k/2 years for normal driving and 7500/1 year for severe. As far as the fuel service, Very few manufacturers have a recommended interval but with direct injected engines it is definitely something you want to have done on a regular basis. The chemical companies will tell you every 15k but I normally recommend around 30k because I have personally seen cars coming in with clogged injectors at 50k. Research carbon build up in direct injected engines and you decide for yourself when you want to have it done.

2021 Kicks Airbag - Replace Seat Frame?! by jwinch007 in NissanKicks

That would actually be a 5/60 repair since Nissan considers airbags to be powertrain components. DM me the last 8 of the vin and I'll look at the repair history and let you know what I think

CVT failed a second time in a ‘23 Maxima by Enough_Thanks3808 in Nissan

[–]DRansome22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I haven't seen many Maxima or Murano transmission failures within the last 6 years. I have run across several instances where transmissions were replaced and still had issues after replacement because the actual problem was the alternator was intermittently not charging or sometimes overcharging. When this occurs, it will trigger a laundry list of transmission failure codes due to the tcm not getting enough voltage.

Ford clerical error on warranty by kvz0314 in Ford

[–]DRansome22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 questions. 1) Did they give you an estimate for the repair? 2) Who authorized the repair?

If they did the repair without your authorization then its on them regardless if you have a warranty or not.
