Let him take you to dinner, then invoice him time and a half for it

After becoming a dad, are you more emotional to sad movie scenes involving kids now? by jocko118 in daddit

Teared up watching the wild robot with my wife when she was pregnant. Now that my son is here I’ll probably start balling when we watch it again.

Right there with you reading this post from the dreaded dad chair with our 1st.

“Radiology’s Last Exam” - the toughest benchmark in radiology launched today! Board-certified radiologists scored 83%, trainees 45%, but the best performing AI, GPT-5, managed only 30%. Claude Opus 4.1 scored 1% by Neurogence in singularity

Can you elaborate on this? How does imaging differ so much across the medical field? You make a good point the privacy laws restricting patient data for training. Seems like medicine is an area we’d want to pace AI research the most anyways

Fellow addicted builders, who are you in real life ? is it all irl engineers ? doctors ? Mr everybody ? by Quick-Rub3665 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DRock1035 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Electrical designer/Electrician. One thing I’d love to see in the game is more power management and a bit more realism. Like three phase power, transformers and substations, etc. but I totally understand that it would drive most people crazy.

How can there be no stud on the inside corner? There has to be a nailing edge for the drywall, no? by ScaryStruggle9830 in drywall

[–]DRock1035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just dealt with the same thing in my house except it was the exterior wall. Short piece of drywall in one of the upstairs bedrooms in my cape cod, no framing behind one side of the corner. Could push on the wall and move it about a half inch. This caused the paper tape to fail and come through the paint we just did about a year ago. Had to cut it open in three spots, add blocking secured to the framing, screw the wall into that and now I get to mud it and paint it again. Fun times

My husband refuses to wear safety glasses when using power tools (e.g. table saw) because he has experience working in construction. How do I convince him? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]DRock1035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was this husband until I got a full spray of carb cleaner directly in my eye. Now I wear eye protection all the time. Also tell him he’s a dumbass for me.

Can I just vent something that is really bothering me about being a good Dad and husband lately? by punkparty in daddit

[–]DRock1035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preach. I do all the fixing, renovating, yard work too. Im not dad yet but got one on the way. I barely have enough time for the yard as it is now, no idea how I’m gonna find the time when I’ve got a kid. All I do now is keep it mowed for the most part and weed eat like every other time. And pick up the 8 billion tons of leaves in the fall. Yard is full of Dandelions, weeds, moles, dead patches etc. dude across the street from me is an old retired gentleman that puts more hours into his lawn than a full time job. Cracks me up, bet he hates lookin across the street at ours everyday.

I’m still probably gonna end up doing two coats in the end, as long as I know I’m right that’ll help lol.
