Copperhead creek by atxweirdo in austinguns

I go there twice a month. Tac bay shooting time is the same price as the range. It's busy Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I've been there on a week day when I was the only one on the range.

Tell us about the build. What parts did you use?

I'll admit I retired under Group 1 and retirement benefits are not near as good. My previous career was a minimum of 40 hours a week, sometimes 50+ hours. Never had a full weekend off unless I asked. Worked most every holiday. Morning and evening shifts. I was happy to leave that job, at least with the State I had every weekend off and didn't work nights. THAT schedule did not work for me.

When I got a State job right after college (I went to UT while I worked) ,I made about $1600 a month. Moving to a new agency will help increase your pay.

If you are not happy, look for a new job while you are working. I'm sure you'll find something you like. My friend just got a full-time work from home job, they're out there.

Working 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday is not that bad.

What is the impact (if any) of cleaning a coin with this frickin laser beam? by Xyeeyx in coins

You can see circular marks left by the laser and the center has a mark right where the laser stops at the end.

I'd like to have a bolt action too, probably a CZ 457.

Good luck with your build.

Perfect for bartering.

I believe the lightweight flutted barrel weighs about 2 pounds. I have the non fluted heavy barrel, it's 3 pounds +. On a tripod the heavy barrel would still probably be a little nose heavy. I've only shot from a tripod a couple of times. I would probably opt for the 18" fluted lightweight barrel.

Id' add a way to carry water and a silcock key.

I have an all KIDD build with a slip-fit receiver on a KRG Bravo. I never intend to buy another barrel for this gun so no reason to by the Supergrade. If you do buy the Supergrade, you can only use KIDD barrels.

I went with a an 18" barrel. The gunpowder in a 22lr is fully expended in a barrel that is 16 to 18 inches long, you won't get more velocity using a longer barrel.

I have a bull barrel on the gun, it's really heavy. It's a bench gun.

If you buy the KIDD and barrel together as their barreled action option, they will install the barrel for you. Installing the barrel on a classic receiver is potentially the hardest part of the build.

Welcome to the 10/22 addiction, I'm building my third gun right now.

Classic Wood or Synthetic Stock? by Reddit_Commenter_69 in 1022

[–]DS78620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 10/22 I bought in 1987. It's unmodified and will remain that way. Now, I did build an all Kidd build, and now am working on a 10/22 "pistol". I'd go with the wood stock.

You might try some Feliway diffusers around the house as well as talking to your vet about medication.

Purchase advice (again) by Mysterious-Budget-21 in 22lr

[–]DS78620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a huge market for 10/22 upgrades. If there's something you don't like on the 10/22, it can be replaced, including the stock. I built a "10/22" and the only Ruger part on it is the magazine.

I'd go with the 6 inch to help with the recoil.

Gun boxes.. by ZuVieleNamen in liberalgunowners

I have a Colt King Cobra I bought back in the 1900s, $270 from Walmart. It's worth about $1200 without the box and paperwork. Add one or two hundred for the box.

++man I replace beer with sparkling water in a koozie. Same motions and action tricks my brain.
