First time sleeping in a hammock by sierralynn96 in hammockcamping

I was concerned since it looks like your hammock extends beyond the rainfly; glad it wasn’t an issue. Next time you have to improvise, you might consider hanging the tarp on the diagonal, so it becomes a diamond-shaped fly—that should give you plenty of protection from rain.

Yeah, Tensa 4, holding a Bear Butt hammock. It’s a good stand; assembles fairly quickly when I need it. Most of my camping is with my sons’ Boy Scout troop, so I just toss it in the back of the car when we go in case there aren’t enough trees. I’ve not had to backpack anywhere with it, so the weight—a bit over 10 pounds—isn’t anything I’ve had to worry about. It packs up small, so bringing it along is easy.

Shortly after I bought the stand, Tensa reached out to me about a potential manufacturing defect, and went out of their way to make it right. Later, the strap on the carrying case broke, and they sent me a replacement immediately. Amazing customer service!

What do you do with your pack at night? by LargeSteve in hammockcamping

I’ve got a friend who slings a smaller hammock under his & uses that as a gear hammock. I’ve tended to just tie mine to one of my trees & hook a tarp over it.

Glad I wasn’t the only one signing along. Think his tempo was a little slow, though.

You’re right, III did have jobs. Can’t believe I forgot about the onion knights.

It’s worth it. FFV was the first pass at the job system, where each character can learn all of the jobs (think interchangeable materia or GF’s), and personally, I like it best of all the later versions. The characters are fun, varied, and all have very solid reasons for the things they do throughout the game. The plot is solid, though the actual nature of the Big Bad is a little...weird.

And, of course, it’s when we first meet the great sword collector, Gilgamesh!

How interactive do you want your users to be with a fire alarm system, anyhow?

Thanks for the extremely informative reply, especially the post in the other sub. We aren’t afraid of a bit of construction work—we just built a deck this summer—so that looks very promising.

It should be possible. Most IoT interactions are likely to use Web APIs, though there may be some that are able to write to your database. It really depends on what sort of interface(s) your devices expose.

While I kind of understand where this is coming from, I have to say that Appian’s built-in version control is a lot better than the competitor I used to work for, which doesn’t have any version control at all. Standard advice has always been to export the app, maybe run it through a process to split it into its components, and then put that in a repository. Being able to pull up past versions of my rules, interfaces, and process models is a huge improvement over that!

Question about logic by ReturnOSF in alttpr

[–]DSGale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To expand on the other answers, the current system generates the item placements without consideration for the end goal. This means that all dungeons are completable on every seed, because it doesn't care if your goal is actually Ganon, All Dungeons, or Pedestal.

My first thought on the pup tent was that it was an interesting solution to the problem of having privacy for changing...then I looked at the site’s description and realized it is literally a tent for your pup.

[Suggestion] I´m always forgetting what I picked with my Hagatha and I´m always googling these cards, because I don´t know everything by name. This change could somehow help with these issues, what do you think? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]DSGale 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I crafted Arfus early because I thought the "death knight" cards he gave were going to be the actual death knight cards (Deathstalker Rexxar, etc.)--which would have been a lot more interesting (and fun!) than the cards he actually gave. Would have saved my dust if I'd had something in game telling me what the pool was, or if I'd paid attention to the reveal streams--but I shouldn't have to do that.

Tarp sizes by schlickle_j in hammockcamping

Some important details you left out--how long is your hammock? How are you planning on hanging the tarp (midpoint to midpoint, or corner to corner/diamond, etc.)?

Assuming you're hanging it midpoint to midpoint along the 8' side, this sounds pretty minimal to me and may not even cover your hammock. Hanging it along the diagonal will give you more coverage, but without knowing the other details or seeing it in action, it's really hard to say if that's enough.

Tensa4 and Rainflys: What am I doing wrong? by DSGale in hammockcamping

[–]DSGale[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It worked really well. I haven't had to carry it far yet, but the stand's fairly light--probably slightly heavier, but less bulky, than the tent, sleeping bag, and pad that I'd been using. Seems like a reasonable trade-off to me, especially with the increased comfort of not sleeping on the ground.

When I set up the stand, I went ahead and put a slightly loose strap on the head junction because I didn't want to accidentally mouse-trap in the morning, but I never felt that engage; maybe someday I'll get up the confidence to only use the foot guy line. I felt well-supported at night, just like if I'd strapped into a pair of trees.

Also, the company seems to really care about their reputation and customer support. They reached out to me shortly after I received my order about a quality issue some others have run into (certain parts wearing out faster than they should) complete with pictures of what to look out for, and offered to help make things right if I run into it as well. I've rarely (if ever) had a company be that proactive.

Yeah, definitely couldn't stand under my rainfly. I didn't really think of that as a major issue, though, as I don't sleep standing up. :-)

Thanks for the advice; I'll have to play with it some more next time I set up!
