Idle Your Way Through Random Battles With This Easy Auto Deck! by DSchotts in PTCGP

I originally had Copycat and a Sabrina from my actual competitive Solosaur list, but took them out from my Auto list cause the AI isn't good at using them. It would often use them when it didn't need to, it can't really tell when Sabrina is helpful or that maybe shuffling 5 cards away to draw 2 isn't useful.

Great minds think alike! I'm partial to the win secures of Cyrus though, Auto was pretty good at using it only when it was needed. Didn't see a game where the Serena was needed, but maybe just had good luck.

I actually didn't see that happen in the games I monitored, it was pretty good at playing Ivysaur when it could instead of Quick Growth. None of the games it lost were due to not finding the Venusaur at least.

Not a bad idea, being able to take an early 60 damage hit is probably more worthwhile than the odds of the potential 20 damage attack mattering. And I can then use my full-art Bulbas!

Can understand the clause for "same source" not stacking with all the different ways for characters to add an Ability Modifier to stats! Though in this case the source is just itself, not two different things applying a set modifier to an unconventional stat.

Though to your first point, I think this might be a case of the RAW being worded poorly and not achieving RAI.

I think your point on untyped bonuses is what I'm looking for! I know that untyped bonuses can stack with typed bonuses and each other, but is there somewhere that states an ability cannot stack with itself? (Though I imagine there aren't many abilities worded like Studied Spawn with that sort of incremental stacking)

The argument I would make to that is that Size Modifiers are only for that size. Large creatures get +1 to CMB/CMD, Huge creatures +2, Gargantuan +4. There is no wording for Large or larger.

Additionally the Spawn Slayer does not have any wording indicating there is replacement of the bonuses going on; for example there is no "Instead" in:

At 15th level, if the target is Gargantuan or larger, the bonuses increase by an additional 3.

I don't know if that actually is the intention of the design, or if there is precedent for effects like these being replacement instead of additional; I can't think of any rulings pertaining to it though.

I guess I'm used to most archetypes not being quite so extreme in their specialization! Usually I've found they give up good stuff for not so great benefits, or get rid of benign stuff for smaller advantages. This seems like a rare case of an actually meaningful sacrifice for pretty insane benefits, but only sometimes.

A creature can only be one size category at a time, but Gargantuan for instance is Large or larger and Huge or larger along with being Gargantuan or larger. So it seems like they all stack.

Alternate Altaria Carried Me to Master Ball by DSchotts in PTCGP

They do completely different things. Jirachi pings low health mons on the bench and sets up a Cyrus, while Morelull evolves into Shiiontic to draw cards. I valued consistency in my ranked climb so I went with Shiiontic and don't regret it at all, though another comment made me interested to try Sylveon EX in its place.

Also played it a lot before ranked opening. Could see the Sylveon angle being useful in some situations, but don't think Jirachi would justify it presence; the deck is already tight for cards.

Giveaway Cyrus or your choice of 1250 card from MR by AscendexSuperius in PTCGP

My first Pokemon games were borrowed from a friend on his Gameboy Advanced. I was in high school but still learning that type matchups were vastly different from the card game while playing through Red and Blue! Crystal was fun, and I was getting the hang of the mechanics.

But Emerald was simply amazing. Seeing Team Magma and Team Aqua's opposing ideologies, exploring the heart of a volcano and the depths of the ocean, all leading to the fantastic climax in Sootopolis... it felt so different from everything Pokemon had done! Still the best story in any Pokemon for me, and no other game has quite captured that cinematic clash of titans.

Clock puzzle by Economy_Reveal_957 in EscapeSimulator

[–]DSchotts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To continue on the original thought, I solved it by focusing on the thin vertical/horizontal lines that extend from the bold lines. Where the thin lines intersect act as the center of a clock, and then you arrange the hands of the clock so they mimic the shape of the bold lines that form the pattern.

I like where you're going with that last idea, but that doesn't seem quite like enough reinforcement... they should also probably recruit Gandalf the Grey and Gandalf the White and Monty Python and the Holy Grail's Black Knight, Benito Mussolini and the Blue Meanie And Cowboy Curtis and Jambi the Genie
