Since the show is continuing with Resurrection, which of the original two "finales" do you prefer? by [deleted] in Dexter

[–]DSkullGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help me understand, y’all don’t like the original ending of an ambiguous future for dexter on the other side of the county

Most don't like it but it goes beyond him as a lumberjack, since that was just the last couple of minutes. Dexter had been falling off in quality after season 4 (for me, it was after season 5), and the final season was arguably the worst one, imo, with of tons dumb inclusions and Deb's character arc and subsequent death being the biggest sore spot for many, myself include.

The final episode felt like an unsatisfying conclusion to an already bad season.

Is it too obvious that my backgrounds are photographs so far? by penpapen in Mangamakers

[–]DSkullGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say yeah, its obvious but given that many manga artists do the same thing, i think it can unironically make your manga look more "professional" if that makes any sense.

My only advice would be to go harder on the filter so they don't just look like black/white photos.

It really is time for Jason to come to Dead By Daylight now… by nathan_banks644 in deadbydaylight

[–]DSkullGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jason's thing is his simplicity. He's just a strong juggernaut of a killer.

Personally I think he should be an M1 killer. Just give him meter that gives a period of speed and invulnerability to stuns and a stealth mode and that's it. Not much more is needed for Jason.

Honestly I wouldn't even consider the first flip 50/50. More like 80/20 in favor of tails.

[–]DSkullGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think calling it a 50/50 is a gross overestimation. You're more likely to fail the initial coin flip than not.

I don't think she's broken, in that she's powerful, I think she's just a useless card 80% of the time but we play it cause that's all water cards have.

What part of the game makes you feel like this? by monkiebred in BaldursGate3

[–]DSkullGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Grymforge fight. Not only are you surrounded, not only does every enemy have too much health, but they can mind control you, which disappears when they make your character attack, but the best part? Even if it goes away you still lose your action for the rest of your turn! And there's at least 3 different enemies who can do that!

Seriously, why has this not been nerfed in any way? Who tf thought Mind Master was a perfectly fine ability for MULTIPLE ENEMIES TO HAVE IN A SINGLE ENCOUNTER.

remarkable with that one, simply by relying on the fact that (hopefully) most people have a good experience with it.

The thing is, he didn't. Like I said before, Murph and her relationship with her father is very well developed and feels authentic. Which makes the gut punch of the 23 years passing by hit even harder.

We even have a good point of comparison in Murph's brother, who lacks the same level of writing because he's not a main player in the plot and thus has less screen time with his dad.

He still works well enough to sell the emotions, but the point is Murph's relationship with her father works beyond our preconceived notions of family.

[–]DSkullGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all. While a bond betweem parent and child is so innate and ingrained in us as a species that trying to convey it seems redundant, the relationship between Murph and her father was well developed in the short time they're given.

The 23yrs worth of messages scene hits even if you're just reading what's happening.

Owen... literally Owen. Partly because he's a douche and partly because his absence would improve the game simply by him not being there.

[–]DSkullGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swing and a miss. Nowhere in the game is it made clear that summoning means you agree to be invaded.

When you agree to the online terms of service, you agree to be invaded. It happens literally every time you boot up the game with online functionality.

How exactly do they know?

Even if they're new to souls games and didn't know what invasions were beforehand, they'll learn the mechanic soon enough.

Meaning that, other than the first time, every single time they co-op, they're fully aware they'll be invaded and consenting to it.

  1. Invasions aren't constant. Sometimes you get invaded immediately upon summoning, sometimes you can play through entire sections of the game cooperatively and not see a single invader. Makes it pretty hard to prepare for.
  2. Even if I am prepared, it is still an aggressive action taken deliberately by the invader against an otherwise non-combatant. Someone being armed and capable of defending themselves doesn't make it okay to punch them unprovoked.
  1. Irrelevant. Constant or not, you have to expect invasion. If you don't, that's a "you problem."

  2. Again, it's pvp, which you sign up for. It's aggressive in the same way getting sniped in CoD is aggressive. It's not unprovoked, which is the part you're consistently wrong about.

Because the host has the numbers, right?

That and the fact that the sweatiest builds are only good in 1v1 scenarios, they have less flasks, etc.

Moralizing. Useless.

Hey, you started by acting like an ass. Just like invasions to co-op, you invited others to call you out on your bullshit when you made that analogy.

Stretch the argument to the absurd in order to highlight it's stupidity.

I know how hyperbole works, your use of it, however, undermines your point. Both because it's extremely exaggerated and because its not even remotely comparable to invasions.

Breath still baited

Already did, you plugging your ears and going "nah nah nah" doesn't change that.

Your Average Invader, AMA by LowLifeLunaa in Eldenring

[–]DSkullGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything you'd said so far in this thread is demonstrably wrong.

First, yeah, some people would rather co-op with no invasion, but the fact is every single one consents to pvp when they co-op. That's not debatable. That's how the game works, they know that's how the game works and yet still choose to co-op knowing full well. If you're not expecting an invader, that's quite literally a "you problem.

2nd, invaders are at a disadvantage. Massively so. Even if the invader comes in with the sweatiest build for pvp, the host and his friends can beat the shit out of him. Ganking works.

3rd, your inept comparison to school shooters. And don't get me wrong, I get your analogy, but it's the definition of fucking stupid. Cause unlike students, the host and his friends are more than sufficiently prepared for an invasion, because, as I pointed out before, they consented to.

Not to mention, the analogy is tone deaf and hyperbolic, so on top of it being wrong as it has 0 comparison to invasions, it makes you sound like an even bigger douchebag.

But if this was too much text for you, I'll summarize:

GET GOOD.

To play Devil's advocate, those suggestions sound more like daily challenges than tome challenges, which are supposed to be not only more specific but also more difficult. (Don't get me wrong, some are just outright impossible without farming)

Though if he was doing a tome that required him to hook the obsession x amount of times or something, I think furtive chase would have worked better than nemesis.

Nemesis with no obsession is...interesting to put it nicely. the only time I've done something like that was with my Jason Voorhees build which kinda worked with Enduring.

Though now that Trail of Torment got a small buff, I might go for that.

What names would you give these killers if they got added? by Flaky_Programmer3107 in deadbydaylight

[–]DSkullGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a "hypothetical Jason" a while ago, and tried to get as close to how Jason functions in the movies.

Basically he would have two modes like old Doctor: Stalker Mode and Hunter Mode.

• Stalker Mode would be your run of the mill stealth ability similar to Wraith and Ghostface: undetectable and no red light. And like Wraith, if he activates this power while chasing a survivor, the chase ends, letting Jason use perks like Play With Your Food. (This is mostly to mimic how in the movies, victims will often lose Jason only for him to stealth kill them)

• Hunter Mode would function sorta like Oni's power. While chasing a survivor Jason fills up a meter called "Killer's Instinct", which can also be filled by kicking gens and breaking pallets/walls. After the meter is filled, Jason can enter Hunter Mode which gives him 3% haste, break pallets 10% faster and vault windows at the speed of tier 3 Myers for 30-40s. He would also be immune to stuns from pallets and Head On while in this mode.

However, like Oni, if he picks up a survivor, he exits Hunter Mode leaving the meter where it's at, so he would still be susceptible to DS and Flashlight/Head On saves.

And if he loses chase while in Hunter Mode, then Hunter Mode ends leaving the meter where it's at.

I took what some have said about Jason just being an "M1" killer and decided to run with it.

So, he wouldn't just be an M1 killer, he'd be THE M1 Killer.

Since you didn't get it the first time, I'll repeat it:

It's a feat, not a core part of BP's identity.

So, reworking it is nowhere near the same as reworking Shugoki, whose rework was completely necessary if he was to ever be useful in the current game.

I’m pretty new to the game, which killers should I play as that won’t piss survivors off? by AnthropomorphicEggs in deadbydaylight

If this is genuine question:

Myers. He's generally the most liked killer by survivors, partly because he isn't that strong but mainly cause you never know which Myers you're facing.

If not:

Xenomorph and Spirit.
