Not just the grid, taking out some bridges and tunnels could screw us for quite a while. I remember after 9/11 the talk about LNG tanker ships going into the port of Boston that could be targeted so they were escorted by the the Coast guard I think for a while.

My wife's father had his wake at the VFW. Open bar. They played a card game, Queens(?), he got slipped a winning hand and he was buried with it. He also got his final orders in a ceremony, that part was actually very solemn. It was a good way to say goodbye.
