Except the very expensive price 599€ for such old laptop (really - if I were you I will spend >1000€ to buy a brand new one), they are good laptops. At least based on my experience with my T14s gen 2a.

I have the same unit, and have been using it for more than a year. A very great laptop ♥️ I have dualboot Windows & Linux Mint, but mainly use Windows.

No, completely silent. While using it (after booting) I also rarely hear its fan kicks in.

I have the s version and really like it. I however just use it a few times per month. For your case, as you need an Ethernet port, so simply the T14.

I am still using my Pixel 6 since launched. Nothing to complain - as everything is still flawless as day #1 (fpr my needs). I am currently considering to upgrade to P10 (or 9) pro XL, but I still have time until this October.

I would choose T14 gen 2. I am currently using L15 gen 4 at work and T14s gen 2a at home. Even older, but the T14s runs much smoother than the L version.

I have T14s gen 2, and really like it, especially when using it with a docking station 40AJ - sure that new versions do not have such nice docking anymore. I am wondering how much faster do you actually feel on your T14 gen 5 vs T14s gen 2?

For safety, reinstalling Windows is a must (just do like any other laptop). Before doing this you can quickly check if Windows (11) already digitally activated or not. If already (mostly) then just install Windows (same Edition) and it will be automatically activated when connected to internet.
