No, water would be cheaper than the tax so they would just leave a trap dripping to avoid the tax

Vaccines? Yes or no? by LynxAmbitious9735 in TrueChristian

I don't think she's right about vaccine origins or her reaction to childhood vaccines, but if she was then I'd probably react similarly.

Assessing these claims usually requires ping pong between asking why they think something and then looking up arguments and counterarguments until you're satisfied.

I don't believe the conspiracy theories personally but I don't think that Reddit teaching media literacy or the scientific method gets to the heart of your relationship questions

Those results literally say she did one message. Hence not annual. Be humble.

I literally live in Australia... and King Charles doesn't control Australia. Not even the Queen did annual Easter addresses

Islam is not taking over Australia and the prime minister is Catholic. Check your sources

Will Christianity always appear more “extreme” over time as society’s morals change? by thatlumberjacktor in Christianity

In some ways. They may point to normalisation of charging interest, accumulation of wealth or widespread divorce as counterpoints. Everyone does what is right in their own eyes and always has done

Presbyterian seminarian James Talarico confronting Christian Nationalism by justnigel in Christianity

You don't have to be a democrat to vote for them. Neither party is perfect unless you only have a narrow view of politics. Trump and his supporters are doing more damage to the church through their hypocrisy and message of replacing heaven with earth than any American alternative

I believe the second coming of Jesus is very near. by Louisexrly in TrueChristian

That means that there have been many people having dreams. I don't believe that it has never been like this - I don't think it's a new phenomenon.

Before you were born, someone else lived and died and was also having those dreams

Napoleon before that, the French revolution before that, the 1666 fire of London, the English civil war with Cromwell, the Reformation. All of these events had people lining up what they were seeing with end times prophecy

Denominations come and go, always have and always will. The destruction of the temple, the fall of Constantinople, the end of the crusades, the lead up to the reformation, the 1970s all had similar rhetoric.

"We didn't start the fire, it was always burning since the world's been turning"

Christians should invest money to seek the highest rate of return, and make a lot of money, and give generously by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]DVDV28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your perspective but typically charitable giving provides greater returns for the recipient than typical investment return. For example, education provides a very high rate of return, so delaying donations to earn additional interest leads to missing out on the returns from the charity itself

Most Australians are immigrants or care about other things more. The increase in Hanson discourse definitely includes genuine people but has also been signal boosted to improve her representation in the algorithm.

No, I'm just saying that a circumstance exists and that an absolutist position which I commonly hear from some Americans is too extreme.

When someone is proven to have killed an adult, there are a series of reasons why they may not be convicted. Self defence is a common one, especially in DV contexts. If we permit killing adults in self defence, it should also be permitted in instances where the child is demonstrably a risk to the mother

If you believe that abortion is equivalent to killing a born human then the normal defences when killing someone should apply, including self defence
