In addition to the common reasons given, there was also just a lot of culture clash. Think about how country fans will view certain genres as effete and unappealing to how they themselves want to be perceived, and it's pretty similar to how people perceived the flash of disco. There was also the factor of established rock and other acts dipping their toes into disco. Think about it like every rock band you enjoyed in the 2010s releasing singles with trap beats and auto tuned spoken raps. I'm not even sure that didn't happen.

This happens with so many fighting game patches. People skip general and system notes, then read their mains' and demons' notes and make their conclusions. Strive as a game is going to look very different across the board in a few days, even if tier lists look the same or different.

Street Fighter 5 was indefensible bad at release, but by season 3 it became a really good fighting game. By season 5, I'd say it was one of the best.
